Product Review – Givenchy Skin Tonic Stretch Cream

As I came to the end of my bottle of Givenchy Photo Perfexion Foundation I couldn’t help but panic. Finding a foundation that suits my skintone is something I am constantly struggling with. This wouldn’t be much of a problem if Givenchy cosmetics were readily available in Australia – which they are not. Thankfully though, I have a friend who uses Givenchy foundation as well, and as we are the same shade in Photo Perfexion, I figured we would be the same in the Skin Tonic Stretch Cream. Thankfully, we were!

What is great about this product…

Aside from being one of the only brands to make foundations light enough to suit my skin tone, Givenchy creates foundations that are beautifully presented – and they smell great. The Skin Tonic Stretch Cream is a very rich foundation, it’s thicker than any I’ve used in the past. Even though it’s quite thick, it spreads smoothly and offers even and surprisingly sheer coverage. It smells lovely, faintly like roses and oh-so-fresh. The staying power is good, and by the end of the working day, I still look like I have some coverage on my face. (I have oily/combination skin and foundation is known to melt or disappear off of my face, so this is a great sign!)

What is not so great about this product…

The only real problem I have with this foundation is the packaging. Although it looks beautiful in the little jar, having to scoop the product out with a scoop to apply is kind of annoying.

  1. must be gorgeous- the packaging is weird indeed. looks amazing but not very user-friendly :)
    have a sweet day, xoxo

  2. Oh, surprising Givenchy is not more easily available in Australia. I think everyone assumes that aussies are all tanned and olive which is really not the case. And Givenchy do make foundations that suit paler skin. Does it look powdery at all? this is one drawback i have seen with some Givenchy foundations, but I have dry skin.

    • I have quite oily skin Yvette, so I don’t notice any dryness… I doubt it would actually show up as dry on my skin even if it was! And I always have the issue with foundation of brands not selling the palest shades here. I have to order on internet and it’s so hit and miss! :(

  3. Hello ^^

I am also a fan of givenchy products. Sadly they are not to be found anymore in Austria ( well not in Upper Austria anyway) therefore I am glad I found an online store which shipps internationally. The company is called strawberrynet. The link would be strawberrynet. com. They offer a wide range of Givenchy products, and other authentic cosmetic brands. I am a regular custumer and have already ordered photoerfexion and sublime as well as clinique airbrush etc.. for a discount price and it shipps internationally which is great. Personally I love ordering from there for they have a very custumer friendly system. There are no shipping fees and if there happens to be a tax case, they refund you the amount back – but you need to tell them first via email, and add a copy of the tax fee sheet as an evidence.
I am not promoting this store or anything – I don’t get anything either – I am just a personal custumer who happens to appreciate the offers and the products…..and wanted to tell about it because I like to think it is simply great and reliable as such….hope it helps ;) Have a great day ^_^ x x

    • I have used Strawberry Net to purchase Givenchy products before, but unfortunately they do not always stock the full colour range, so I’m not always able to get my particular foundation! Thanks for the tip though :)
