Product Review: Beauty Blender

Now, you can have the best foundation in the world. The one that matches your skin tone perfectly, lasts all day long and doesn’t smear off onto your clothes. But it’s just not going to work for you unless you have the perfect applicator. So let me introduce you to the Beauty Blender. I was honestly skeptical about this product before purchasing, would I really need to spend that much on what is essentially a makeup sponge? I have used different forms of foundation applicators in the past – fingertips, latex sponges, foundation brushes – but I can honestly say I will never look back after using the Beauty Blender.

What is great about this product…

The Beauty Blender is the only foundation applicator I have used that creates a flawless, seamless finish. The sponge does not soak up the product, so it’s able to distribute it evenly against your skin. You simply dampen the sponge, dip it in your foundation and bounce it against your skin to apply your makeup. I use it for both foundation, and creme blush. Another great thing about the Beauty Blender is that it is recyclable. When your sponge has reached the end of it’s life, simply send it to the address listed on the Beauty Blender website, and feel a little bit better about what you’re doing for the environment. Oh, and it’s pink. And we love pink things.

What is not so great about this product…

Well, I would have to say the price is a little steep. $29.95 AUD for a foundation applicator? But then again, I have spent more than that on makeup brushes before. I’m also not a huge fan of the blender pedestal. It’s basically just a round plastic stand for you to set the blender in to dry. It doesn’t really fit in with the decor of the bathroom, so I hide mine in the cupboard, lol. You also need to purchase the Beauty Blender cleanser to make sure your BB is kept in tip top shape. This is an additional cost, but I do admit that it’s fun to use. You pump the sponge onto the top of the cleanser to distribute it, and rub all of the yucky product out of the sponge. See? Fun.

Beauty Blender is available for Australian purchase through Nouveau Visage , international customers will need to check out the Beauty Blender website for further information on stockists.
