Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion is a special type of lotion designed to help restore your skin and enhance its natural protective functions so that your skin is able to heal itself naturally. Unlike other moisturisers that can add artificial moisture to your skin (which can lead to a dependancy; stopping your skin from producing it’s own moisture), the natural shielding is focused on urging the skin to be active, and to use its own moisture to effectively heal itself.
What is great about this product…
The shielding lotion is designed for use on face, hands and body but I only trialed it on my face. What I liked most about the Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion was how light it was. It had a creamy gel like consistency that was cooling and soothing on my skin. It is hypo-allergenic, fragrance, colourant and paraben free and dermatology tested. After applying the shielding lotion my skin was not greasy or oily, and my skin soaked this baby up like nothing else!
What is not so great about this product…
The instructions tell you to initially apply the lotion every 4 to 6 hours, which just wasn’t doable considering my busy lifestyle. I stuck to applying it morning and night. The only other issue I had with the lotion was that the packaging is a little plain, and could probably do with some updating.
The Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion is not available everywhere, so please check their website for stockists and ordering details.
