These are a few of my favourite things…

When the dog bites, when the bee stings…. Ha. Good luck getting that out of your head now! I put the call out on Twitter a few days ago for people to help me with some inspiration for future blog posts. My Swedish Gal-Pal and resident Daim supplier Andrea suggested that I include more photos in my blog. She also suggested a peek inside my wardrobe and some information on a few of my “favourite pieces”. So I figured I would combine the two ideas and VOILA! Pictures AND a few of my favourite things from my wardrobe for the upcoming Autumn/Winter season. Let’s go.

First picture: These are the Chanel shoes I mentioned in my post about my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. I would love to wear them all year round but they are a) a winter-esque shoe and b) impossible to walk in for extended periods of time. They are what I like to call my “cold weather dinner shoe”

Second picture: A few of my favourite accessories for the upcoming season. The clutch is vintage (read: stolen from my grandmother), covered in an authentic peacock feather (that is looking a little worse for wear after living through my early 20′s when I didn’t realise how beautiful and unique it was and I took it clubbing with me. the horror.) and never fails to draw compliments. I love it. I hope that now I realise how amazing it is and treat it with love and tenderness that I can get a good run out of it in the future before it falls to pieces. The ring is House of Harlow and a recent purchase. Again, it’s a peacock. Sensing a theme? I love peacocks. Send me anything you own and do not want that is peacock related and it will go to a good home, I promise. Mr B asked me why I was wearing a ferris wheel on my finger, but the bartender at the pub that we went to for dinner on Sunday night complimented me on it. Obviously Mr B has no idea what he is talking about. Moving on. The bangle is jade and was given to me by my best friend who purchased it on a recent trip to China. It’s pretty and has bits of pink in it. Yes, I am down with fashion-speak.

Third picture: A dog that knows no boundaries. Within 15 minutes of me arriving home from work and letting the dogs inside, Mr Beagle had made his way into the bedroom, nested around in the blankets for a while and managed to move them out of the way so that he had a comfy space to take an afternoon nap. Oh, the life of a beagle.

Fourth picture: My new shiny HP all in one touch screen computer. And to the side a little are the new goodies I received from Adore Beauty on my arrival home from work. I cannot wait to try out the Moroccanoil. It smells delicious.

Have a great weekend all!

NARS Orgasm Illuminator

How much would you pay for a really great Orgasm? Does $69 sound reasonable? (hahaha, okay. I get it, I get it.) That is how much the NARS Orgasm Illuminator will be retailing for on it’s heavily anticipated release in Australia on Monday 8th March. Yes, next Monday. Within my no-buy challenge period. The universe is cruel folks. Cruel. Here comes the pretty…

I was first introduced to NARS Cosmetics during my trip to the USA last year. I was shopping in New York and was served by one of the friendliest and most helpful sales staff I’ve ever come across. We discussed the beauty of NARS products while she did my makeup and educated me on the sly ways of the NYC cab driver. (apparently I was tipping too much) She convinced me to try out NARS Laguna (my first ever bronzer) and applied the prettiest purple eyeshadow that took away the horror of my unattractive red eyes (24 hour flight time, a quick nap and straight into shopping will do that to a girl). I always think of her when I shop for NARS products, and I am sure she is jumping for joy somewhere in Henri Bendell between the scary older Joan Rivers type women plugging their body exfoliant and floor to ceiling bookcase full of Ray Ban sunglasses.

Cue the groovy stats:

Within the US alone, 2 Orgasm™ products are sold each minute.

There are more than 400 Nars Orgasm™ product searches conducted on Google each day.

“Introducing NEW Nars Orgasm Illuminator, a scintillatingly sheer, weightless fluid that instantly makes skin refreshed, radiant and glowing. Flecks of gold, peach and pink shimmer softly diffuse light, melting into the skin to allow natural luminosity to shine through. Apply NEW Nars Orgasm Illuminator all over the face for a barely-there, healthy glow. Use as a highlighter for a glimmering accent on cheekbones. Layer it under, over, or mix directly with Nars Foundations for added overall brilliance. Wear it on the neck, shoulders or décolleté for a silky, subtle, eye-catching sheen.”

I need this in my life. I am hoping I come into some unexpected money in the next fortnight or so. How much do you make selling a kidney? I’ll let you know when I find out and after I duck into Mecca Cosmetica to buy myself some of this sweet NARS goodness!
