Product Review: Bloom Organic Rose Hip Oil

I often speak about how much I love Rose Hip Oil, it is one of my all time favourite skin care products and a must have in my beauty cupboard. Couple that with my recent and growing adoration for Australian cosmetics brand Bloom and I’m sure you can imagine that I jumped at the change to try out and review the new Bloom Organics Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil.

What is great about this product…

To me, rose hip oil is something of a miracle product. Rich in vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, this powerful skin supplement “nourishes and hydrates your skin, improves skin elasticity, slows down new signs of ageing, minimises minor scars and promotes a smooth, soft complexion“. Rose hip oil can apparently be used day & night but I tend to only use it at night – and once every couple of days. Any more than that and it doesn’t seem to have the same effect for me. I’ve been using rose hip oil for about a year or so now, and the Bloom oil is definitely on par with my favourites. Bloom’s Rose Hip Oil is 100% Australian Certified Organic with no artificial fragrances, colours, parabens, animal testing, mineral oils, sulfates, silicones, or petro chemicals. Winner! The packaging of the Bloom Rose Hip Oil is the best that I’ve seen out of all of the different brands I’ve tried. In fact, their entire organic range has some of the prettiest packaging around at the moment.

What is not so great about this product…

The only problem I’ve ever come across with rose hip oil is the smell. And I hate to say it, but the Bloom organic rose hip oil definitely has the true “fishy” sort of smell that the product is known for. Those that have used rose hip oil before shouldn’t have much of an issue with it, but I think those that are new to the product should be aware that it does have quite a distinct odour that not everybody finds appealing!

The Bloom Organic Rose Hip Oil retails for $25 AUD for 15ml and can be purchased from Myer, David Jones , Bloom’s Flagship Store in South Yarra or online at Bloom Cosmetics.
