Product Review: Dermalogica Active Moist

I think it might be high time that I introduce you to my all time favourite facial moisturiser. Dermalogica’s Active Moist. I was sent some of the Dermalogica Active Moist for review by Australian Online Beauty Store Active Skin and I have to say, my skin had definitely missed this product.

What is great about this product…

Everything. Okay sorry, that is cheating. Dermalogica Active Moist is my favourite facial moisturiser for the following reasons. 1: It is fragrance free. (and we all know how much I dislike facial skincare products that are heavily scented!) In fact, this is one of my favourite things about most of the Dermalogica line. 2: It is great for my excessively oily skin. This is one of the few moisturisers I can use in summer, and know that it will not make my face look extra shiny. 3: It is super lightweight. The moisturiser is very light and sinks into skin so quickly, leaving barely a trace of product showing on the skin. Although it is so lightweight and great for oily skin (not greasy at all) the product still feels very hydrating and moisturising on my skin. 4: It is calming and helps to settle my prone-to-redness skin. I also really like the fact that that this product seems to be not at all threatening to the male species. Mr B has often “borrowed” my Active Moist – which is good and bad, good for him and his skin, but bad for me because I run out a lot faster when he’s slathering it onto his face.

What is not so great about this product…

I would say value for money with this product is definitely there, if you have expensive skincare taste. Otherwise paying $79 for a 100ml sized moisturiser might seem excessive to some.

My Rating: 9/10

The Dermalogica Active Moist retails for $79 AUD for 100ml, or $58 AUD for 50ml and is available for purchase online from Australian Online Beauty Retailer Active Skin.

  1. I am in search for a great moisturizer, but unfortunately – this is way out of my price range. Plus, i have dry skin and usually need something a bit thicker. I am especially in search of an affordable night cream… if you have any recommendations… ;)

    • Have you ever tried Organic Rose Hip oil in place of a night cream? It’s cheap if you buy a generic brand and I absolutely swear by it. I use it every couple of nights as a serum and my face glows for the following few days!

      • I have read about numerous oils, jojoba and rose being among them… but always forget! I just purchased Pond’s Cold Cream today, but am saving the e-mail with your comment – I’m going to give that rose oil a shot! Thanks for the recommendation. :)

      • Let me know what you think! It can take a little while to get used to the smell, but I think the benefits of the product are well worth getting used to that small thing.
