Product Review: NYX Powder Blush in Peach

What is great about this product…

I’ll start by saying that this blush cost me $10.95 AUD. Yes. It’s cheap. (And cheerful.) Now, I am something of a makeup snob. I have expensive taste and I am really trying to push myself out of that pigeon hole to try and experiment with some new brands. I initially went on the hunt for ELF cosmetics, stumbled across the Crush Cosmetics website, was disappointed that none of their ELF products seemed to be in stock and ‘settled’ for NYX instead. I have heard a lot of good things about NYX stuff in the past (mostly from youtube beauty gurus) so was very curious to try some products out for myself. I bought quite a few things (that I will review in time) and the NYX Blush in Peach was the first thing I wore. It looks like this:

(note: this is the blush layered over MAC’s blush creme in the shade Ladyblush)

I have never been so instantly impressed with a blush before. The pigmentation is incredible, very dense and layerable (is that a word?) and it stayed on my cheeks throught the entire work day. For a ‘cheap’ blush, the quality is amazing. I can’t wait to try more from this brand!

What is not so great about this product…

This is going to sound really silly, but I don’t like the packaging. Well, I don’t like that the packaging differs from blush to blush. I ordered two blushes from NYX and they have different writing and different sized heart shapes on the front. I guess that is my only complaint about the blush – and for $10.95, I’m not sure I should even be complaining!

My Rating: 9/10

The NYX Powder Blush in Peach retails for $10.95 AUD and is available for online purchase from Crush Cosmetics.

  1. I like cheap and good :p

  2. The blush looks lovely and so do your lips. Please share with us that lipgloss. It is so nice.

  3. Wow that color looks great on you. What youtube beauty gurus do you like to watch?

  4. I have this blush and I love it too. I’m a huge fan of the NYX single eyeshadows, I have about 30 of them. I buy them from the US for about $3.50US each and the quality is just fantastic.

  5. Stupid questions but:
    1) Do you dye your hair or is it your natural colour?
    2) Do you edit your mobile photos before you post them? (Because they are always so wonderfully dreamy and lovely!) :)

And I need a blush like that!

    • My natural colour is slightly lighter than the colour I dye it (Loreal Preference in “Tahiti”) and I wouldn’t colour it if I didn’t get premature greys around my part! So annoying!

I don’t edit my mobile photos, the ones I post that have white borders around them are taken via the iPhone application ‘shakeitphoto’ which I think changes the saturation a little bit :)

      xoxo

  6. Thanks for the answers! My friend also needs to dye her hair because she started to get gray hairs when she was 23 years old. :(
