Product Review: Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

After reading quite a few rave reviews of Benefit’s new highlighting product “Girl Meets Pearl” and having been a huge fan of their High Beam highlighter for a while now, I decided that Girl Meets Pearl was something I needed to try out. Girl Meets Pearl is a golden-pink toned illuminating liquid that is supposed to give you that “glow from within” look. Does it do the job? Yes. Do I love it more than High Beam? No. Have I still been wearing it practically every day since receiving it? Yes. There is something about Girl Meets Pearl that feels like more of a summery highlighter than High Beam. I don’t know if it’s because it’s more gold toned, and High Beam seems softer and more silver toned and better suited to the colder months? Whatever the reason, I have been piling this product onto my cheeks lately. I attempted to do a swatch of the product, and a shot of it on my cheeks but as I only have an iphone available as a camera right now, the colouring and quality of the pictures seem to vary. So my apologies, but here they are…

One thing I love in particular about Girl Meets Pearl is the packaging. It is a twist-top container, which means you click the bottom to product the product at the top. You can then dab it against your cheeks, or apply with your fingers or a brush if you so desire. I find this much easier to use than the brush and tube highlighters that I have used in the past. As with High Beam, it also lasts throughout the entire day, with the “glow” still quite obvious in the afternoon when I get home from work. Benefit Girl Meets Pearl retails for $53 AUD and can be purchased online from Australian beauty retailer Adore Beauty.

  1. I like the names they chose for their products. Love the glow it gives, not too shiny.

  2. I need this in my life – even though I have quite a few highlighters already. I like the sound of the staying-power of this!
