Top 10 Skincare Products

As with my Top 10 Makeup Products post, this is a post dedicated to the top 10 skincare products that I use and buy time and time again. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, Dermalogica Precleanse, Dermalogica Skin Refining Mask, Clarins Beauty Flash Balm (I use this as a primer for nights that I will be heading out for a long time, or I know there will be pictures of me being taken), Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, Trilogy Organic Rose Hip Oil (to be honest I prefer the KOSMEA Rose Hip Oil, but I am using up this bottle of the Trilogy before repurchasing another), Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel, Ole Henriksen Blemish Attack Roll On, Kora Balancing Rose Mist and Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub. What are your top 10 skincare products?

    1. I have used dermalogica, nutri-metics etc. I have found something I don’t want to go without. Natural ingredients, luminous results, improved appearance. Ageloc. Any of you ladies heard of it or used it?

  1. Thanks for this Jess! I’m on a skincare kick at the moment so I’m very interested in any posts to do with skincare at the moment. Do you know if the Microfoliant has polyurethane beads, or the natural variety?

    1. I don’t have the original box/leaflet that came with the Daily Microfoliant, but from what I know of the product I’m pretty sure that the microfoiliant aspect comes from the Rice Bran and Rice Extracts in the product. Combined with Papain Enzyme & Salicylic Acid to “help dissolve excess surface cells” 🙂

    1. It is a targeted product just for spots. I pretty much use it every day though during the times that I need it. I just roll it over my trouble area, which is along my jawline 🙂 (for hormonal breakouts)

    1. I also find that my skin is a lot clearer when I drink a lot of water. I know a lot of people nay-say that concept, but with water flushing out most of the toxins in our body, and our skin being the third point of call for toxin release, I’m not sure why they don’t agree with it! x

  2. Neutrogena unfortuantely test on animals so I don’t buy from them anymore. I tend to change around my skin care products a lot. Although I have a few cult favourites like Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturiser, Dr Hauschka Rejuvenating Mask and Almond Oil to remove my eye make up. And lately I’ve been trying out a few things from an Aussie brand called Empassion. I really love their face mask, face scrub and shampoo.

    1. Hi Sarah, thanks for informing me of the neutrogena issue. I did a bit of research and now understand that Johnson&Johnson test on animals, though Neutrogena do not directly test their products. Having their parent company testing on animals is enough for me to stop using the company, so Neutrogena is now off of my list and once I’ve finished up the products I have now, I won’t be repurchasing.

  3. What’s the KORA product like? I’ve always been dubious about trying them because of the price and the fact that it’s celebrity endorsed…tempted though!

    1. It’s a much “lighter” rose mist than any other I’ve used. I really like it, though I’m not a huge fan of the price point. The packaging is beautiful though, so for me that makes up for it in some SMALL way.

  4. I love when you do your top ten. I’d have to have a good think before picking mine. There’s a lot of dermalogica products in there- I got some samples recently and loved them. Im really going to have to invest.

    1. I’m not sure what the difference in formulation is, but the KOSMEA seems to have a better effect on my skin. I get the glowiness right away the next day, and it helps with uneven skintone a lot more than the Trilogy IMO

  5. Agree with you on the Kosmea rosehip oil. For some reason some other brands I have tried have an adverse reaction to my skin, leaving it with dry patches. I don’t mind Trilogy but I truely get the results I desire with Kosmea.
