Product Review: Wondercap

The Wondercap is a nifty new tool for those of you like me who are obsessed with obtaining perfectly glossy hair. Basically it is a cap (pictured above) that can be heated up and worn for 15 minutes or so to intensify the effect of hair treatments. You can also pop it in the freezer to soothe a headache or cool you down on a hot day but honestly I can’t see myself ever using it for that. To use warm you simply shampoo, rinse and dry your hair until it’s slightly damp, apply your hair treatment, comb it through and tie it up in a high bun, place the supplied disposable shower cap over your hair, pop the Wondercap into the microwave for 90 seconds on high (and 10 second increments after that until it reaches the temperature you desire) and place it on your head over the shower cap. The heat from the cap opens up the hair cuticles, allowing the treatment to be absorbed deeper by your hair. (hint: try rinsing your hair with cold water, or blasting your hair with a shot of cold water before stepping out of the shower, I do this daily and it makes a huge difference to the look and feel of your hair – much shinier, I promise!) I used the Wondercap with both the Guardian Angel treatment that came supplied with the Wondercap, and my own favourite hair treatment the Pantene 3 Minute miracle. Honestly, I didn’t see much of a difference after the Guardian Angel treatment, but the Pantene 3 Minute Miracle results blew me away. I love how this treatment makes my hair feel at the best of times, but the effect it had on my hair after the Wondercap was incredible. The Wondercap kit retails for $39.95 AUD (which includes a disposable shower cap, Wondercap and a 50ml tube of the Guardian Angel hair treatment) and is available for purchase at Price Attack and Shaver Shops throughout Australia. For stockist information, see the website. (note: I was sent this product for consideration for review)

  1. Everyone’s digging the 3 minute miracle, I might have to grab some the next time I go grocery shopping :)

  2. I will definitely be trying the 3 minute miracle… and if I can get my hands on a wondercap in Ireland, that too!
