Goal #98 Progress

Goal #98 of my 101 things to do in 1001 days is to learn to meditate properly. So when I found out that the natural therapy centre near my house was offering an 8 week meditation course I signed up right away. I had my first class tonight, and I already know that I am going to love it. I adored everything about the class, from the location (inside a day care centre, which may seem strange to some but I have nothing but good memories of day care centres so I was instantly at ease) to the group of people in the class with me. After the hour of meditation we sat in a group and discussed what we thought about the experience, what we liked and disliked and what we thought we needed to improve on. I definitely need to improve the depth of my breathing, and about half way through my mind wandered a little bit that might have been because I was hungry… Lesson learned and I am eager to see what week 2 will bring!

5 Thoughts on “Goal #98 Progress

  1. I’m glad you liked it. Don’t worry about thoughts creeping in too much, be gentle with yourself 🙂 xx

  2. At first it seems funny to take a class on meditation. To take a class on doing nothing. But I know its more than that and actually I could probably stand to take a class myself. Anytime I’ve ever tried, I’ve either fallen asleep or just couldnt’ quiet my brain. I can’t ever get outside of my head and its exhausting. I need a break from me.

    • It was really interesting to note the difference between how I felt walking out of the class compared to how I feel when I meditate at home. It was SO much easier to get into it and get a lot deeper into a relaxed state at the class than it normally is at home.

  3. Meditation is great, I’ve been doing it for about a year and a half now, since I started practicing paganism. It’s so cleansing! I’ve never been to a class though, perhaps I should look into that.
