Product Review: O&M The Power Base Protein Treatment

Continuing the trend of creating products that smell so good I want to eat them while also doing a really awesome job, the O&M Power Base Protein Treatment is fast becoming one of my new favourite haircare products. To get the scent business out of the way, the product smells like a banana and vanilla milkshake. It smells delicious, though is probably deadly if consumed so it’s best to avoid that if possible. The Power Base basically acts as a lifesaver for the hair of those like me who put their hair through a lot of heat-based stress. It helps to restore the inner strength of hair from within using wheat protein and moisturises the exterior of the hair with apricot oil and shea butter. I tend to use the protein treatment 1-2 times a week, or as I feel my hair needs it. To use, you simply apply the product to your hair after shampooing, leave it for 3 minutes, rinse and then condition as usual. (Note: you could also try leaving the treatment in for a longer period of time for a deeper conditioning effect) For me, the results are thicker more nourished feeling hair that definite shows signs of repair from heat stress. This has been a saviour for the ends of my hair lately. My only complaint is that the fragrance of the product itself doesn’t seem to linger for very long in my hair. Personally I would actually really love for my head to smell like a banana flavoured paddle pop. The O&M product range is not tested on animals, and contains no Parabens, Phthalates or Sulphates. It retails for $31.95 AUD and can be purchased online from Adore Beauty. For further stockist information, you can email O&M for details. (note: I was sent this product for consideration for review)
