Current Skincare Routine

I’ve been rather pleased with the state of my skin lately, and I’m not sure if I can owe that to the fact I’ve been eating clean for the most part (more on that later), or due to the fact I’ve taken it back to basics with my skincare routine. All of the products pictured above are what I would classify as ‘holy grail’ skincare items, and they are the ones I reach for when my skin is playing up. They are; Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel, Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, Kora Balancing Rose Mist, Ole Henriksen Blemish Attack Roll On, Ultraceuticals Even Skintone Serum, Kosmea Organic Rose Hip Oil and Dermalogica Active Moist. I tend to use the Ultraceuticals and Kosmea products once or twice a week, and at night only. Everything else I use pretty much daily. Of course the Ole Henriksen blemish attack is only used when needed. What skincare products have you been using lately? Do you use any of the products pictured above?

  1. I wish I had a holy grail skincare routine. I’ve found a lot of products that I really like but none that I totally love. I’ve just started using Kosmea RHO (on your rec) so maybe that’ll become a HG product for me.

  2. I don’t really have a ‘holy grail’ skincare routine. I tend to switch up my products/routine when I run out of something. Although I do really love the Grown range. I’m quite happy with their cleanser and toner which I’ve been using for a while. I would like to try their moisturiser. I also really like Jurlique. I use their eye cream and love balm. And the Dr Hauschka range is a favourite too.

My current routine is: Murad Soothing Gel Cleanser, Dermalogica Daily Microexfoliant (this has been my fave exfoliant for at least 2 years now – absolutely love it!), Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel (this has also been my fave serum for 2 years now), Akin Cellular Radiance serum (I use at night), Alpha-H Age Delay Eye Cream and Ultraceuticals Ultra Moisturising Cream – though in the hot weather I prefer using Dermalogica Active Moist as it’s lighter. Mask-wise I’ve been alternating Pevonia Soothing Sensitive Skin Mask and Ole Henrikson Enzyme Mask, but I always love trying out new masks. Do you have any fave masks you could recommend Jess?

    • You’ve reminded me of the Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel, I love that stuff! And we use the same moisturisers! I use the Active Moist in Summer and the Ultraceuticals UMC in Winter too, lol. My favourite mask is the Dermalogica Skin Refining Mask. I rarely use anything else!

We must be skin twins Jess! πŸ™‚ Actually I think I remember you raving about the skin refining mask – it’s one of the few Dermalogica masks I am yet to try! Must try and grab a sample and test it out. Thanks for the rec!

  5. I just started using Oil of Olay’s Pro X Cleansing System and I’m really pleased with the results. First of all, it REALLY cleans off all of the makeup and I’m definitely having less breakouts and just all around more glowing, better skin.

I only have on HG skin product – Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser. Unless my skin every drastically changes, that’s the only cleanser for me. Love Active Moist and the Daily Microfoliant though! Really tempted to one of the KORA mists after reading good reviews! I’ve been pretty dubious about trying celebrity endorsed skincare but I might give it a go.

  7. Most of the skin care products I am using right now are from Omorovicza. I also use Neutrogena and Philosophy.

  8. I love Kosmea rosehip – must buy another tube. My current products are a little all over the place as I’m trialling a few samples, but this very week it is: Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Oil, Korres White Tea Fluid Gel Cleanser, Ultraceuticals Ultra A Smoothing serum, Korres Quercetin and Oak night cream (a sample tube – very rich but smells delish), Bakel Jaurolanic serum, Chanel eye cream, Isomers Instant Lift Eye Gel.

Hmm… now I want to simplify!

  9. I love love LOVE the Kosmea Rose Hip Oil, IMO the best one around. Trilogy is ok, but the kosmea gives me a better glow…

The last couple of weeks I’ve been using my own 10% vitamin C E and jojoba serum nights, and a Trilogy Ultra Hydrating cream during the day. My skin’s pretty happy atm.

Hi Jessica, have you tried any of the Kora cleaners?
I really want to get into a certified organic cleansing regime and Miranda’s stuff looks the goods. Any recs?

    • Hi Laura! No, unfortunately I’ve only been able to try the Balancing Rose Mist from the KORA range so far. But I’m definitely interested in looking at the rest of the range, when finances permit! πŸ˜‰

    • Sorry lovely I missed the part about any recommendations. I know that the Kosmea range gets some good hype, and they’re an amazing natural range that might have a good cleanser for you to try out x Other than that I don’t think I’m much help, as I tend to stick to my dermalogica cleanser 95% of the time.
