Tuesday Tunes – 4 Great Albums (90’s)

The pressure was on for this week’s Tuesday Tunes post. Not only do I have the 90’s loving influence of my sister hovering over my head, but damn were there a lot of good albums released in the 90’s. Narrowing my selection down to four was difficult, so I asked my sister Shannon to send through her suggestions for the top 4 albums of the 90’s to be included alongside mine. So here we go, we’ll start with my top four album choices:

My sister’s initial response to my question regarding her top four albums from the 90’s was “How can I possibly choose 4???” She obviously had a hard time narrowing it down (like me), as her list included the following: 1st. Without question…. Pearl Jam: Ten 2nd. Tool: Aenima 3rd. Pearl Jam: Vs 1993 EQUAL 4th… Alice in Chains: MTV unplugged, Smashing Pumpkins: Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Radiohead: OK Computer, Soundgarden: Superunknown, Nirvana: Nevermind, Pearl Jam: Vitalogy, Stone Temple Pilots: Core, Alex Lloyd: Black The Sun, Nine Inch Nails: The Downward Spiral & Hole: Celebrity Skin. Quite an extensive list, and yes as you may have guessed she is a big Pearl Jam fan. Though I have to admit that I’m surprised neither of us included Alanis Morissette in our list… I still know pretty much every single word of every single song on her Jagged Little Pill album. What are your thoughts on the music of the 90’s? Did you become a fan of the grunge era back when it was something interesting and new and not the revamped style version sported by teenagers wearing doc martens and babydoll dresses these days?
