Product Review: Benefit Cha Cha Tint

Benefit are one of my favourite cosmetics brands. They have created some of my favourite makeup products, High Beam, Girl Meets Pearl, Erase Paste, Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liners and their Ultra Shine lip glosses. When I initially received the press release for their new product ‘Cha Cha Tint’ I was beyond myself with excitement. It sounded amazing – a mango coloured liquid blush? Yes please. When it arrived on my doorstep I did a little happy dance and applied it to my face right away. The first thing I noticed is that the application is quite similar to Benefit’s Posy Tint in that you have to be quick because the product dries and sets rapidly once applied to skin. If you’re not fast enough, this can happen. As you can imagine, this can be slightly bothersome so if you’re not used to this sort of application I would recommend trying it out a few times to get a feel for the product and how it applies.

As with the similarly packaged Benefit products, Cha Cha Tint is applied with a thin brush that is quite similar to a nail polish applicator. To apply, it is suggested that you place three small dots on your cheek and blend, but I find it easier to apply a very small amount of product to my fingertips, pat them together and apply to cheeks (remembering to work quickly). The result is a gorgeous mango/peach flush that lasts a very long time, and manages to make it’s way through an entire work day without budging. (You might also want to make a note that because the product is long lasting, it can be quite difficult to remove from fingertips after the initial application…) This colour is going to be on my cheeks a LOT in the Spring/Summer months at the end of the year. Benefit’s Cha Cha Tint will be available for purchase from June 18 2011 and will retail for $66 AUD. For stockist information please call (02) 8353 5000. (note: I was sent this product for consideration for review)
