Product Review: The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream

Ahh, coconut. I love coconut. The scent, the juice, the oil… Everything. One time I even drank out of an actual raw coconut in Singapore. Good times. When it comes to coconut scents, in my opinion it can go either way. You can either end up with a product that has a lovely delicious natural coconut scent, or it can be an kind of synthetic faux-coconut scent. Unfortunately for The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream, I think in this case it leans towards the more chemical of fragrances. Having said that, as a shower gel it does the job. It contains community trade organic, pure cold-pressed virgin coconut oil, lathers well and leaves my skin feeling moisturised after use. If you’re not too fussy about your coconut scents and you’re in the market for a relatively cheap but good quality shower cream this could be the one for you. The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream retails for $12.95 and can be purchased from The Body Shop online store.

  1. I actually don’t mind the body shop coconut scent- you must be very particular :)

  2. Have you tried the Loreal Everpure hair mask in the green tub? This smells like coconut and is so pretty – it is not a purely coconut smell but is so pretty.

  3. Coco-nut here too. I used to always buy the mini one of these for hols, am off to Vanuatau in 2 weeks and rhis reminded me I should get one again. Maybe a mini body butter too while I am at it! Why not!
