Shop My Stash: July

In an attempt to try and utilise some of the products that I own but rarely use, I’ve been grabbing a few items out of my collection at the start of each month to try and work into my daily makeup routine. I’m going to do a little roundup each month of the products I’ve been using and what I think of them. These are the products that I shopped from my stash during July –

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl – I’m usually pretty loyal to my Benefit High Beam, but I’ve been using this liquid illuminator quite a lot recently. It gives a pretty peachy gold sheen to the cheeks which helps to brighten my corpse-pale face on early winter mornings.

Becca Lip & Cheek Creme in Rosebud – Honestly, I can’t wait to finish this blush. Not because I don’t like it but because it’ll be the second blush I’ve ever finished completely and that is a massive achievement. Hooray for me!

Benefit BeneTint – I completely forgot that I owned this (possibly because it’s so tiny and I had it tucked away at the back of my makeup storage) but I’m really glad that I dug it out to use it again because it gives the prettiest rosy tint to the lips. It’s designed to be a dual-use product but I stick to using it as a lip stain only.

MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study – I wear this on my lids on most weekends when I can’t be bothered putting in much effort. A simple swipe of this across the lids gives a lovely champagne sheen.

MAC Gleam Eyeshadow – My friend gave me this eyeshadow because it didn’t really suit her makeup style anymore, but it is absolutely perfect for me. It’s very similar to MAC’s Naked Lunch eyeshadow in that it’s a neutral champagne colour with a satin finish. Which is what around 75% of my eyeshadows are. Nice.

Bare Study will be mine! I cannot for the life of me figure out how to apply those liquid multipurpose benefit products on my cheeks. They always come out blotchy. I’m afraid I’ll have to dig out my Girl Meets Pearl-I keep forgetting I have it!

    • I’ve hard a hard time getting them to work on my cheeks too, apparently if you brush them onto a stippling brush and then apply to the cheeks it helps to counteract the 3 dot staining that happens when you put it straight onto your skin!

  3. I am somewhat unconsciously doing a Shop Your Stash – for the past few weeks I’ve pretty much been using the same products over and over again: Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in Ivory (with MAC Moisture Surge cream underneath if my skin seems dry), Napoleon Perdis Camera Finish powder in Look 1 over the top, a bit of Clinique bronzer, Bourjois blush, Benefit Watts Up to highlight, my trusty BYS brow pencil & Illamasqua brow gel, Shiseido Perfect Defining mascara and then the only decision I make is which lip product to use. Kind of fun but I’m sure I’ll want a change soon enough hehe! Love your posts 🙂

    • I’ve been stuck in a bit of a rut with my makeup as of late, so pulling things out of my stash that I rarely use is helping things along! I just realised that I never got my grubby little hands on Benefit’s Watts Up! NEED.

I need to start doing this a bit more! Having said, I am trying to; I’m really lazy getting ready for work and usually just stick to the exact same routine every single day, (foundation, concealer, powder, touch of bronzer, tightlined eyeliner and mascara), so I’ve been trying to spend an extra few mins adding some blush or highlighter and eyeshadow. I have this major issue where I love BUYING make up – then fail to actually use it. Beautyista fail.

  11. I really want to try Bare Study. Adding that to my shopping list!
