Thoughts of the week…

I went for an early morning walk along the beach today and it was lovely. I always have grand plans at the beginning of summer to make the most of our beautiful beaches, but time seems to get away from me. When I do make the effort to get to the beach it’s always worth it. Can you imagine a better way to start your weekend?

01) I watched Pitch Perfect for the first time on Monday night and it was amazing.

02) Do you ever suffer from FOMO (fear of missing out)? I’ve been experiencing it a lot over the past few weeks and I don’t really know why.

03) I think I’m going to get a fringe cut back into my hair when the weather cools down a little bit. This picture of Zooey Deschanel is my current inspiration.

04) I’m back into heavily scrutinising the money that I’m spending and how I control my budget. I found that the holiday period was a bit of a blow out for me and I went a little bit crazy. Time to reel it back in.

05) I’m loving my new Kate Somerville skin care routine. My skin is baby soft at the moment, but I’m not sure if that’s more to do with the products or the fact that I’m using a muslin cloth to wash my face every day. Possibly a combination of both.

07) My once-monthly (sometimes more) lunch splurge at work is a soft taco from Mad Mex. I’m craving one right now and I’m just about ready to drive all the way into the city to get one.

08) I smashed a pressed powder compact on my bathroom floor during the week and it was traumatic. I know most of you will understand this.

09) I bought a set of bangles from Lovisa last weekend and the gemstones have already fallen out of them. Not happy, Lovisa.

  1. I used to get FOMO in my early 20s but I haven’t had it for a while now, I just don’t care what other people have/do anymore 🙂

  2. My life is defined by FOMO at the moment 🙁 i think it will be better once i start a new full-time job on Monday and have no time for anything else haha.
Pitch perfect was hilarrrrr. i must watch it again!.

  3. I bought a studded bag from Lovisa that a few studs fell off. I was shopping in there ages later and the girl asked me if I was enjoying the bag and I said “not really, the studs have fallen off!” and right there, without a receipt, she exchanged it for another bag that I chose… Needless to say, the new bag didn’t feature studs, unsurprisingly.

  4. I am so glad you have finally caught up with us and have seen the proposal. I GASPED. And then looked around to see if everyone else could believe what they were seeing… but I was all alone watching. So good. Tears.

Re the FOMO, grass will always be greener and that. Also I suspect with the advent of social media a lot of people create a perception they are living exciting and action packed lives but really they’re just sitting at home on a Sunday night with Google Reader and a packet of chocolate coated strawberry licorice too. It’s worth remembering that somewhere, someone will want what you have instead.

    • I’m glad to have caught up but it really sucks not having a wealth of new episodes to fall back on! I am dying for Friday to roll around with a new episode.

You’re right about the grass always being greener because a lot of the time on the nights that I do make the effort to go out, I would rather be at home watching Parks and Recreation and drinking cups of tea.
