Thoughts of the week…

01) My house building process is coming to an end, and I’m very close to getting the keys handed over to me. I have my building inspection coming up this week and then it’s not long until I’ll have my own little house all to myself. Viva la mortgage!

02) I’m starting my one-Christmas-movie-a-week ritual this weekend. I’m pretty sure I know most Christmas movies that have been released, but if you have any suggestions or recommendations, they’re more than welcome!

03) Lena Dunham interviewed Mindy Kaling and it was great.

04) If you’re in the market for a new TV show to watch, I recommend The Returned (Les Revenants). Dee spoke highly of it, and she’s one of my TV TRUST CIRCLE gurus, so I knew that if she enjoyed it so would I. From what I’ve seen so far it’s the perfect blend of creepy and captivating. The opening credit sequence is absolutely beautiful.

05) There are way too many gorgeous products out at the moment that I simply can’t justify purchasing. Like this. And this.

06) Kimberley convinced me to buy this book. Spooky, moon-based horror? I’m in.

07) Fun fact about my childhood: I was a creepy kid. I read the Dollanganger series of books by Virginia Andrews, and I loved them all. They’re gross and weird and amazing, and you best believe I am ALL OVER the upcoming Lifestyle remake of Flowers In The Attic.

08) The first Divergent trailer has been released. Can we just take a minute to appreciate Four?

09) You will never be this creeped out by anything in your house.

10) OK Taylor, we get it. You’re hot.

  1. http://our-summer-christmas.tumblr.com/post/66767989115 A nice little Christmas movie list for your viewing pleasure. Complete with cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies. 🙂

  2. I can’t get enough of Love Actually and The Holiday as Xmas movies. Also The Family Stone. Other than that I only know of, or have seen, Home Alone 2… does that count? I eagerly await the suggestions of everyone else. Xmas movies for me have to be thoughtful with a little (or a lot of) love on the side.

Damn you and your Mecca temptations. And damn the British bloggers for making me know why those items are so tempting in the first place.

  3. I’ve been watching an 80’s movie a week but I might just put that on hold to watch Christmas movies! I’d love to know what’s on your list!

    • My list so far:
      The Santa Clause
      Elf
      National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
      The Polar Express
      Home Alone
      Home Alone 2
Die Hard (at the request of my boyfriend)

  4. I’ve looked at that Hourglass palette a couple of times but can’t justify the $98.

Also do you remember I posted a GIF of a hot guy smiling a couple of months ago and you asked me who it was? Dude, that’s Four.

    • I can’t really justify the price either. I was hoping to snag it in the Sephora 20% off sale (discounted from the already cheaper US price), but by the time I’d sorted out my issues with the order I’d placed with Sephora it had sold out. Typical.

      FOUR IS LIFE

  5. I can’t find where to watch the Returned! Send me details please? 🙂

  6. I was a creepy kid also and read and owned all of the Flowers in the Attic books. They’re so freakishly addictive to read! Have you seen the 1987 version of the movie? It made me lol, and also made me angry. They brushed over EVERYTHING, and completely changed the ending of the story which made me irrationally angry. Anyway…

I hate all of the bloggers for making me want the Hourglass Ambient powders! I think I’m going to stick to buying just one – but I just freaking bought all of the things (except these!) in Sephora whilst in the States so I reaaaally can’t justify it right now. *pout*. #firstworldproblems
