February Goals

Is it just me, or did January pass in a blink of an eye? Time really does speed up as you get older. How depressing. Anyway, I didn’t do too badly in the goal-stakes last month. We had a very short-lived getaway down south, but it was still nice to get away for the weekend and it was probably the most exciting thing to cross off my list. Here’s how I did with the rest of my January goals

– finish the latest book club book and plan a meeting
– take unwanted/read books and magazines to give to friends

– sort out/upgrade my health insurance coverage (I absolutely WILL get this done in 2015)
– clear out the boxes near the kitchen
– follow up on the front verge landscaping
– fill out the council form to have a tree planted on our verge in april 2015
– plan a little weekend getaway for the end of the month
– send my interstate BFF a birthday card/gift

Not too bad, all of the big ticket items seem to be leftover though, which is a bit of a habit of mine. I really need to get on top of this. I have in some ways made some progress on a couple of these goals, but they’re not fully completed yet so I’m leaving them as is for now. Here’s my list of things to do in February –

– sort out/upgrade my health insurance coverage
– follow up on the front verge landscaping
– fill out the council form to have a tree planted on our verge in april 2015
– dead-head the kangaroo paws and other plants in the garden that need sprucing up
– enquire about a car loan
– paint the house
– watch the final season of sons of anarchy
– clean out the tupperware cupboard in the kitchen

An exciting month ahead! How is everyone else going with their monthly goal setting?

7 Thoughts on “February Goals

  1. Love all of your posts but this series is one of my favourites! Probably because I’m so nosy haha.
Just wanted to give me 2 cents about car loans, my bf had one for a couple of years and the interest rate was phenomenal! Also the amount he had to pay each week was huge. Since he changed to a personal loan he’s paying more than half he’d be paying on his car loan and he can pay it off early without being penalised.
I know it’s personal preference but since he (we in a sense) have been through it, I would hate for anyone else to go through it, so I tell anyone when the subject comes up.

Good luck with goals this month, you can do it! 🙂

Thanks Paris! I’m glad you’re enjoying this series, and thanks for the feedback on the car loan… At this stage I’m looking at lumping it on top of my mortgage, which would give me a much lower interest rate than a stand alone car loan, but I’ll have to see how I go… 🙂

  2. I’m going with your monthly goal setting plan now (I did last month too, but I forgot to link you up, sorry).

I think it makes me more accountable when I post about it on my blog (and attempt to link up with some other people doing it).

I find it makes me more accountable too, Vanyel. Especially when I check in at the end of the month and see a few items I can quickly check off of my list. Definitely helps me get things DONE!
