March Goals

February is done and dusted! It was a bit of a lazy month for me, goal-achieving wise. The fact that I have not upgraded my health insurance (something that has been on my to-do list since the middle of last year) has well and truly come back to haunt me. Let that be a lesson to us all! Take care of things before they become a problem, or before the universe decides you’ve run out of time to achieve your goal and now it’s time to pay for it. Here’s how I went with February’s goals

– sort out/upgrade my health insurance coverage
– follow up on the front verge landscaping
– fill out the council form to have a tree planted on our verge in april 2015
– dead-head the kangaroo paws and other plants in the garden that need sprucing up
– enquire about a car loan
– paint the house
– watch the final season of sons of anarchy
– clean out the tupperware cupboard in the kitchen

It looks like our verge will finally be landscaped this month. The woman from my suburb body called me and seemed quite shocked that it hadn’t been done yet. Yeah, no kidding lady! I don’t know why it’s been my responsibility to follow up on it seeing as it’s not technically my land, but whatever. It’s done now and hopefully we’ll have a lush looking verge soon. I looked into borrowing money for a car loan, but I think the best thing for me to do is to refinance my mortgage first and then go from there. Stay tuned for more on that soon. Now it’s time for some goal settin’ for March! Here we go –

– sort out/upgrade my health insurance coverage
– dead-head the kangaroo paws and other plants in the garden that need sprucing up
– finish watching the final season of sons of anarchy
– clean out the bathroom cupboard
– dead-head the kangaroo paws and other plants in the garden that need sprucing up
– write a to-do list for planning our USA trip
– speak to a mortgage broker about refinancing my mortgage
– march book club meeting

What’s on the top of your March goal list?

5 Thoughts on “March Goals

  1. My main March goal is to get a morning routine into place for most days, mainly the ones that I am working. I have done it for a week straight so far aside from days off but even then I’m trying to jump into the shower first thing and have breakfast, rather than pottering around and then realising the time haha. To think I’m 26 and still haven’t got my mornings together. I’ve also been on a huge decluttering urge. Even just tidying things and knowing where they all are, and that I don’t need to buy any of the products I’ve found lurking in drawers, is so balancing for me in the long run. Also on that list though is of course planning a wedding and crossing my fingers that we’ll have to add moving the MIL & FIL out of this house soon so we can make it ours. Oh, and I would love to take a peek at your to do list for planning the USA trip, is that for 2016?

  2. Hey Jess,

What’s the structure of your book club? I’ve been trying to find one in Sydney for some time but I’ve not really been impressed or interested with the ones I’ve found. I’m considering giving up looking and starting my own! How did you find yours and are you enjoying it?

Hi Amy, essentially it’s a group of my girlfriends that get together every month or so to discuss a book that we nominated at the previous book club. This is our third try for a book club, and we’re a lot more loose with things now because that suits the majority of people’s personalities (if not mine). I tend to organize it for the most part, and we all suggest books at the monthly meeting and as a group decide which is next. Prior to each meeting I source some discussion questions online based on the book we’ve read that month, and we spend some time going over those at the get together 🙂
