April Wellness Chat

I spend a lot of time talking about life, fitness, and finance goals, but very little time talking about the things I want to achieve to help bring me some mental balance. Which is strange, because I find mental health and being able to find a bit of balance to keep you sane is so important in this day and age. I’ve decided to start setting goals for each month, so I have something to look back on and see what I’ve achieved for the year. Here are my first monthly wellness goals –

– Buy an adult colouring book (and nice pencils)
– Go screen-free after 9:30PM on week days
– Read a little bit of my book every night before bed on week days
– Make an effort to keep up contact with friends
– Spend more time “with nature” and in the garden

Those are the things I am going to focus on this month, and I’d love to hear what you do every day to help give you a bit of balance in your life.

  1. This post is providing food for thought as I never really make time for mental wellness. I guess I get some me time when my son’s at school. I get so busy and caught up in doing everything that needs to be done, but I should make some time to recharge too.

I’m glad it’s got you thinking Di! I feel like it’s so important to make time to balance ourselves. Life gets quite overwhelming otherwise!

  2. You should try this app called Happily. I’m still getting into it now but it’s great for the mind. Really make you step back and think of the positives in your life.

Also, just stepping into a Kikki K and looking at some of their mindfulness journals could do you no harm.

  3. Wow.. I like (but will find it hard) to be screen free after 9.30 but I think that’s great!

It’s surprisingly not that hard! Although to be fair it might be easier for me because we go to bed so early, lol.
