June Wellness Chat

I’m noticing more and more that when I let too much time pass between the moments I spend relaxing and centering my mind, I start to feel really run down and stressed. It’s good to know that mindfullness practices work, and I’m 100% sure spending time on personal wellness will pay off in the long run. Now, if only there were more hours in the day! Here’s how I went with my wellness goals for May

– Spend time on Tuesday and Thursday evenings doing things for me
– Meditate once a week

– Spend some time on Sunday evenings in ‘wind down’ mode
– Practice daily affirmations
– Work on a vision board

Not too bad. I have a week booked off of work next month that I am REALLY looking forward to. I feel really mentally and physically ready for a holiday, even though we’re not planning on going away anywhere (except maybe somewhere down south for Sebastian’s birthday). In the meantime, I’ll be trying to work more mindfullness into my daily routine. Here are my goals for June –

– Make more of an effort to read a bit of my book every night before going to sleep
– Spend more time on “pampering” in my nighttime routine
– Work on a vision board
– Make exercise a priority (for mental wellness)
– Write a stress management plan for the things that I know can be sources of anxiety for me

What are your wellness goals for the month?

10 Thoughts on “June Wellness Chat

  1. My goal is to do the rehab exercises the osteo assigned to me consistently to fix my back issues. I have another appointment in a month so we’ll see how I go…

He’s also asked me to try and get my stress levels down which will be a challenge. 😐

Good luck with your rehab exercises and stress level reduction Peta – if only that was as easy as it sounds, right?!

I cannot wait for this “vision board” you speak of. I feel like should do this. I need a place to put all my thoughts? goals? (is that how it works?) I think that is awesome

Yes! I’m very much into manifesting and visualising goals, and having a vision board of what I want my life to be certainly helps with this.

  3. I love this ! I’m working on a wellness plan as well, i have a hard time sticking to them though & that’s what i need to work on more than anything. Good luck with yours

  4. I keep on hearing about the benefits of meditation. Any tips? How do you do it? Apps?

I tend to use podcasts I like meditation oasis and ‘my meditation station’. I always do it right before going to bed because it helps relax me and shift me into sleep mode.

  5. You are sounding like you are doing really well with your plan. I’ve been quite stressed by work this year, I haven’t taken any time off in the last 7months and it’s starting to get to me. My goal is to book some leave before Christmas and try to get away somewhere, I am thinking Melbourne. I have started to get ontop of some medical/dentist appointments I have been putting off for ages too which makes me more relaxed. I know I should look after myself too but it’s something I always put off.

I find those little things that we put off doing just keep niggling away until they start adding to daily stress! I hope you manage to get some time off soon, I know what it’s like to go for long periods without time off work and it’s really not good for mental stability!
