Once again I find myself with very few items on my “I NEED THIS OR I WILL DIE” list this month, but of course I was able to rustle up four items that I would certainly be more than happy to own. These are -
01: MAC Blot Powder – For some reason I have been really curious about this lately. I’ve heard great things about MAC’s blot powder and now I’m curious to try it for myself. 02: Seven Wonders Detangling Moisture Spray – My hair has been a knotted wreck lately, and I don’t know why. I don’t have 1 detangling spray in my repetoire and as I am loving the rest of the Seven Wonders range I figured I might as well give their detangling spray a shot!
03: Biotherm White D-Tox BB Cream – I have been trying this out after being sent a small sample by
Adore Beauty and I have to say, it’s amazing. I can’t wait to buy a full sized tube for myself.
04: Ultraceuticals Even Skintone Serum – I ran out of this over the weekend and nearly wept. It’s one of my holy grail skin care items and I have a hard time living without it! Must. Replace. Immediately.

So I made a promise to myself that I would avoid purchasing anything Christmas themed until at least November 1st. But that certainly won’t stop me window shopping…! I am a sucker for Christmas themed things. So when companies like Philosophy, LUSH and Bath + Body Works bring out their limited edition Christmas range I go nuts. Most of the full Christmas range isn’t out yet, but here are a couple of products that I’ve got my eye on at the moment…
Yes, that is a homemade cookie scented candle. The genius that thought that scent up deserves a raise. And a kiss. And a cookie. I just hope that it smells as good as it sounds!

In case you weren’t aware, I love making lists to plan and organise my life. So I am writing myself a little list of beauty products that I want to check out this spring/summer. I am also a terrible impulse buyer (something you should also know about me) so the likelyhood of me sticking to this list is not that great but what the heck I’m going to do it anyway.
Bath + Body Works Shower Gel & Body Lotion in “Pearberry” – Unsurprisingly I’m sure, I’ve already ordered this. (In fact, it was my first order through
HopShopGo – the new international parcel forwarding service set up by Pay Pal!) I visited Bath + Body works while in the US and nearly had a heart attack at how exciting and cheap it all was. My favourite scent by far is the Warm Vanilla Sugar, but I’m keen to try something else – and this Pearberry scent sounds delicious and rather summery!
Givenchy Le Prisme Blush Blooming in “Blooming Fuchsias” – I’m sure I don’t need to explain this one too much – look how bright and colourful it looks! And with a name like blooming fuchscias, it seems like a perfect match for spring. Also, I am a sucker for everything that Givenchy produces – especially in their cosmetic range.
Kevin.Murphy Hair Resort” –
‘Hair Resort has compactly packed a sexy, summer holiday in a jar!’ Um, yes please! I have tried samples of this in the past and really liked it. It gives a really nice beachy wave without making hair horrible and crunchy like some products can (and do).

Winter is slowly approaching, (I do wish it would hurry up and arrive already, I’m sweltering!) and I’m starting to think about what products I want to be using in the colder months ahead. I will need help brightening my skin, keeping my body moisturised (I am thinking body oils and dry body brushing will help combat winter dryness) and something to help with skin sensitivity. Here are a few products from the
Jurlique range that I am lusting after this winter:
Herbal Recovery Gel
A potent botanical concentrate, infused with a rich blend of herbs and precious plant oils to restore, firm, hydrate and revitalise the skin. Helps to minimise the visible signs of ageing with daily use.
Rose Body Oil
A moisturising body oil to nurture the skin and senses.
Nurturing Mask
A gentle purifying mask, rich in the living energy of groomwell and sichuan peppercorn to clarify, hydrate and soothe. Leaves delicate skin feeling soft, pure and revitalised. Ideal for rebalancing sensitivity.
You may or may not remember that I recently posted a
review for the Jurlique Fruit Enzyme Exfoliator. If you are interested in trying this product out, now is the time!
Jurlique have been kind enough to extend a discount code for the readers of The Belle Lumiere. Using the code
SUPERFRUIT15 at the checkout will give you 15% off of the
Fruit Enzyme Exfoliator. This code expires on the 1 June 2010 and is valid for 1 use only. Happy shopping!

How much would you pay for a really great Orgasm? Does $69 sound reasonable? (hahaha, okay. I get it, I get it.) That is how much the NARS Orgasm Illuminator will be retailing for on it’s heavily anticipated release in Australia on Monday 8th March. Yes, next Monday. Within my no-buy challenge period. The universe is cruel folks. Cruel. Here comes the pretty…

I was first introduced to NARS Cosmetics during my trip to the USA last year. I was shopping in New York and was served by one of the friendliest and most helpful sales staff I’ve ever come across. We discussed the beauty of NARS products while she did my makeup and educated me on the sly ways of the NYC cab driver. (apparently I was tipping too much) She convinced me to try out NARS Laguna (my first ever bronzer) and applied the prettiest purple eyeshadow that took away the horror of my unattractive red eyes (24 hour flight time, a quick nap and straight into shopping will do that to a girl). I always think of her when I shop for NARS products, and I am sure she is jumping for joy somewhere in Henri Bendell between the scary older Joan Rivers type women plugging their body exfoliant and floor to ceiling bookcase full of Ray Ban sunglasses.
Cue the groovy stats:
Within the US alone, 2 Orgasm™ products are sold each minute.
There are more than 400 Nars Orgasm™ product searches conducted on Google each day.
“Introducing NEW Nars Orgasm Illuminator, a scintillatingly sheer, weightless fluid that instantly makes skin refreshed, radiant and glowing. Flecks of gold, peach and pink shimmer softly diffuse light, melting into the skin to allow natural luminosity to shine through. Apply NEW Nars Orgasm Illuminator all over the face for a barely-there, healthy glow. Use as a highlighter for a glimmering accent on cheekbones. Layer it under, over, or mix directly with Nars Foundations for added overall brilliance. Wear it on the neck, shoulders or décolleté for a silky, subtle, eye-catching sheen.”
I need this in my life. I am hoping I come into some unexpected money in the next fortnight or so. How much do you make selling a kidney? I’ll let you know when I find out and after I duck into Mecca Cosmetica to buy myself some of this sweet NARS goodness!
