What I Bought: GAP

I recently decided that because I will be spending a lot of time at home studying this year, I deserved some comfortable clothes that I could lounge around the house in. How this aligns with my desire to pay off my debt, I’m not quite sure. But here we are, and here’s what I bought:

Pure Body Modal Pants (in true black and charcoal heather) – Don’t these look like the most comfortable pants in the world? Well they are, I already own a pair of them. They’re nice and soft and will be perfect for sitting around on the computer all day.

Shirttail Pullover Sweater (in true indigo) – This looks like the perfect sweater to wear over leggings, which is exactly the way I plan on wearing it. Hopefully we still have some cold and dreary days ahead of us so I’ll be able to get a lot of wear out of this. It looks pretty lightweight, so I should be able to make it work for springtime weather.

Long-Sleeve Pocket Tee (in true black and midnight fog) – I love the look of these tees, they look like they’re going to feel really soft and be nice and lightweight. I’m planning on wearing these with the aforementioned modal pants. Perfect lounge wear.

Gap GFast Capris (in true black) – These weren’t bought with the intention of wearing them around the house, but I am planning on hitting up the gym a lot while I’m on holidays so I thought having an extra pair of my favourite workout pants on hand couldn’t hurt.

What I Bought…

I finally used up the last of my birthday/Christmas money, and picked up a couple of blouses that I spotted while out shopping on the weekend. The first item I picked up was a cross-body top from Sussan. I have always been a huge fan of Sussan, but the quality and style of their clothes has increased a lot over the past couple of years. This top is beautiful, and is so soft to touch. I want to sleep in it. The second item was this floral print peasant blouse from Target. It was hanging on a rack near the entrance, and the colour and print were too beautiful for me to ignore. I can see myself wearing this with dark denim skinny jeans and ankle boots/flats when the cold weather finally decides to show up.

What I Bought…

Do you ever see a piece of jewelery, and think ‘oh, that’s lovely’, but then just go about your day? And then you see it pop up again, and again, and again, until you can no longer deny it and you simply MUST PURCHASE IT? No? Ok, well something similar (but perhaps slightly less dramatic) happened to me with this necklace from Anthropologie. It kept popping up on my Pinterest feed, and every time it caught my eye I considered purchasing it. Yesterday in a haze of self pity (yes, I’m still sick), I purchased it. And I regret nothing. (I also had my eye on these, but I’m saving them for another day)

What I Bought…

I’ve had a very strong urge to buy things recently. It drove me to the edge, I caved, and I spent some money. But it’s all good, I’m back on the wagon now and saving my pennies once more. I didn’t go too crazy, but while I was at the shops buying a gift for my nephew on the weekend I stumbled across a couple of things that I couldn’t resist picking up for myself.

I’ve been looking for a lightweight jacket to wear during the transition to the warmer months, and this one from Peter Morrissey for Big W is perfect. It’s a loose boyfriend fit, the sleeves can be easily rolled or pushed back because the lining is black, and it’s a lightweight material that should be comfortable to wear when the warm weather kicks in. The second item I wasn’t really planning on, but as it turns out I can’t walk past a Sussan store without going in to have a look. I feel like a lot of people overlook Sussan, but they have some really beautiful pieces. They’re pricey so I always check out the sale rack first. This pretty little split-back blouse was on sale, and I picked it up because it’s 100% my style and now I can’t wait to wear it. While I was in the store I spotted these linen blend t-shirts that looked like a nifty little tee, so I ordered myself after coming home and thinking about it for a bit. The necklace I saw in store and couldn’t get the idea of a ‘pop’ of yellow for spring/summer. I think it will bring a lot of life to some of my darker outfits next season.

What I Bought…

I am so sick of my work wardrobe at the moment. I ordered this GAP eyelet dress to try and mix things up a little bit. I also thought that it could work well for both spring/summer and autumn/winter, which makes it a bit of a winner in my eyes. The Old Navy jeans are the latest in my never-ending attempt to buy cheap yet well-fitting jeans online. It has worked maybe 3 times in the past 5 years. The search continues.
