I have been using the Sebastian Professional Hydre Shampoo and Conditioner for a few weeks now, and it’s become a firm favourite in my hair care routine for summer. The range is pitched as being a post-celebration hair saviour, and it’s definitely helped me nurse my hair back to health after the hectic Christmas/New Year period. I’ve seen less fly-aways and a noticable difference in the general frizzy state of my hair post my straightening/blowdrying/curling/overstyling period during the holidays. The products do not have any particular scent, other than that “freshly washed hair” scent that I absolutely adore. The only thing I don’t really like about the products is the packaging. I know it sounds silly, but I don’t like that the bottles are two different colours, and the black container seemed to get very dirty (even in the shower) really quickly. Having said that I really like the blue and black writing on the white bottle, which appeals to my pathetically superficial side. The Sebastian Hydre Shampoo and Conditioner retail for $68 AUD within the “Sebastian Professional Thirst Quencher Pack” which also contains the Taming Elixir. The official new face of “Catwoman” in the new Batman franchise, Anne Hathaway was looking less than menacing at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards this week. As one of my porcelain skinned perfect-makeup idols, Anne did it again with this fresh faced and feminine look. Celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee created this look for Anne to compliment her Armani Prive gown. “Anne wore a nude rose sequin gown. The dress featured a strong shoulder, so I wanted to make sure the make up was approachable and feminine to allow the dress its full attention.” She used the following products to create the look: Chanel Sublimage Concentrate, NARS Oil Free Pro Prime, Chanel Vitalumiere Fluid Makeup, Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder (in the shade medium), Chanel Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow (in the shade sand), Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara (in the shade noir), Chanel Hydramax and Active Lip Care, Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Mademoiselle, Chanel Coco Shine in Bel Ami and Chanel Natural Finish Pressed Powder. What do you think of Anne’s look? Do you think it compliments her neutral shade dress?
Despite not being a sexpot blonde myself, I think January Jones’ makeup at the 2011 Golden Globes is the look I am most likely to emulate. Her flawless skin, beautiful eyes (those lashes! that gold liner!) and glossy yet subtle red lips look amazing. Celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin created the look using the following Chanel products: Sublimage Concentrate, Bronzing Makeup Base, Soft Touch Eyeshadow (in the shade liberty), Perfect Brows Palette, Inimitable Intense Mascara (in the shade noir) and Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss (in the shade excess). What do you think of January’s look? Did it compliment or detract from her less than ladylike ensemble?
I’m not sure what kind of rock I’ve been living under, as she has been looking incredible for years – but Michelle Williams is a new addition to my “skin idol” adoration list. Would you believe she is 30? Look how incredible her skin is! She glows. Her makeup was once again looking perfect at the 2011 Golden Globes, courtesy of celebrity makeup artist Jeanine Lobell. “We were inspired by the classic beauty of Jean Seberg and Mia Farrow. Luminous fresh skin was key, and a super lashed eye gave a nod to those classic beauties. A fresh coral lip kept the look modern and new.” Jeanine used the following products to create Michelle’s look: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B10 (new for Spring 2011), Chanel Powder Blush in Espiegle, Kevyn Aucoin Essential Eyeshadow Palette #2, Kevyn Aucoin Lash Curler Volume Mascara, Chanel Perfect Brows & Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Chalys. What do you think of Michelle’s look? I think it suits her pefectly, and that hair could not be any more gorgeous if it tried.
Jayma Mays plays the character Emma in Glee (also known as my current style icon), and her throwback to old Hollywood glamour came together in one of my favourite looks from the night. Celebrity makeup artist Beau Nelson created her makeup look using Covergirl products. “We wanted to create a modern retro look and make sure that overall the look was balanced against her gorgeous black dress.” To create the look, Beau used the following Covergirl products: Simply Ageless Serum Primer, Nature Luxe Silk Foundation, Liqui Line Blast (in the shade black fire), Line Exact (in the shade black), Lash Blast Volume, Lip Perfection (in the shade Flame) and Clean Pressed Powder. To be honest I don’t think her makeup quite hits the mark. It’s just not polished enough to really pull together the glamourous look in my opinion. What do you think?
