Hair Inspiration – Lauren Conrad

Around 2 years ago, I made a huge decision and lopped off around 75% of my hair. It went from halfway down my back to a short concave bob just under my ears. I loved it at the time, but god was it painful to grow out. 2 years later I have all of my hair back and once again I am itching to try something new. My best friend and I have a pact that neither of us will cut our hair because once one does, the other will want to and then it will take years for us to grow the length back again. So now I am considering a colour change. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to pull it off, but I am seriously considering taking the above picture of Lauren Conrad into a hairdresser and demanding that they make me look as fabulous if not more. What do you guys think? With my cool-toned super fair skin do you think I could pull off the above hair colour?

Top 10 Haircare Products

I have previously posted my top 10 makeup and skincare products, so I thought it might be a good time to post my top 10 haircare products! It was actually a lot harder for me to choose my top 10 hair products than in the other categories… I don’t think I am 100% there yet with my “holy grail” of hair products just yet. In any case, these are the 10 I have chosen today. Toni & Guy Iron-It Heat Defense Spray, Moroccanoil, Terax Crema Conditioner, Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo, Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner, Pantene 3 Minute Miracle, Pantene Stay Smooth Hairspray, Fekkai Apple Cider Clearing Rinse, Unico Hair Serum, Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo. What are your top 10 haircare products?

Product Review: Beauté Pacifique Puffy Eyes Gel

I have never been 100% keen on posting eye cream reviews as I am still on the fence about eye creams in general. Personally I have never seen any long term effects or benefits from the various eye creams that I have used over the years. Having said that, I will continue to use them for hydration benefits and also in the daft hope that one day when I am in my 50’s I will look back and be thankful that I did use them when I am wrinkle free and fabulous. The Beauté Pacifique Puffy Eyes Gel was pitched as a saviour product to aid in the aftermath of the festive season, an eye gel to help combat tired and puffy eyes. (something that I suffer from on a daily basis, not just in the festive season!) This definitely sounded like a product I needed in my beauty regime. The Puffy Eyes Gel claims to tighten and firm the eye area instantly. And, in all honesty – it sort of does. You can pretty much feel the product working the instant you put it on your skin. The eye area tightens up and feels “refreshed”. Now this, for me, is where the problem has set in. I have been using this eye cream for a few weeks now, and I’ll be honest with you guys – I have a love/hate relationship with it. There is one aspect in particular about the product that I’m not sure if I like. Basically after application there is a cooling sensation that feels similar to cold air blowing on the skin surrounding my eyes. This quickly turns into a warming sensation followed by a slight tingling feeling in the skin. I am putting this all down to the product working it’s magic, but if it could do so with minimal sensation I would definitely prefer it. If you’re looking for a quick caffeine shot to the eye area, this is the product for you. Be warned though, you are only supposed to use a tiny amount of product – around the size of half a grain of rice per eye. The Beauté Pacifique Puffy Eyes Gel retails for $75.55 AUD for 15mL and is available at selected stockists and online. For more information visit Beauté Pacifique online. Product Review: ASAP Daily Exfoliating Facial Scrub

ASAP are an Australian made and owned skincare brand that offer products that are suitable for all skin types, including acne prone, environmentally damaged & pigmented skin and are simple, effective and affordable. Also, they do not test on animals. Sound good? I thought so too. I was sent the ASAP Clearskin Pack for review, which includes the Daily Facial Cleanser, the Daily Exfoliating Facial Scrub and the Clearskin Gel. I wanted to share my thoughts on the exfoliating scrub first, as it’s my favourite product of the 3 I’ve been using. The daily exfoliating scrub claims to be gentle enough to use on skin daily, but if you have super sensitive skin I would probably avoid using it that frequently, as it did slightly irritate my skin on daily use. The exfoliating scrub contains AHAs but there are also little beads in the product that you can feel manually scrubbing away at your skin – which I personally quite like. It makes me feel like the product is really working. The smell of the scrub isn’t that pleasant, it’s a slightly chemical smell – but it’s not unbearable. Overall I liked the ASAP Daily Exfoliating Facial Scrub because of how soft & smooth it made my skin feel, and the fact that I really am growing to appreciate the ASAP brand and their ethos. The Daily Exfoliating Facial Scrub retails for $44 AUD for 240ml and you can search for a nearby stockist at the ASAP website. (note: I was sent this product for consideration for review.)
