ASAP are an Australian made and owned skincare brand that offer products that are suitable for all skin types, including acne prone, environmentally damaged & pigmented skin and are simple, effective and affordable. Also, they do not test on animals. Sound good? I thought so too. I was sent the ASAP Clearskin Pack for review, which includes the Daily Facial Cleanser, the Daily Exfoliating Facial Scrub and the Clearskin Gel. I wanted to share my thoughts on the exfoliating scrub first, as it’s my favourite product of the 3 I’ve been using. The daily exfoliating scrub claims to be gentle enough to use on skin daily, but if you have super sensitive skin I would probably avoid using it that frequently, as it did slightly irritate my skin on daily use. The exfoliating scrub contains AHAs but there are also little beads in the product that you can feel manually scrubbing away at your skin – which I personally quite like. It makes me feel like the product is really working. The smell of the scrub isn’t that pleasant, it’s a slightly chemical smell – but it’s not unbearable. Overall I liked the ASAP Daily Exfoliating Facial Scrub because of how soft & smooth it made my skin feel, and the fact that I really am growing to appreciate the ASAP brand and their ethos. The Daily Exfoliating Facial Scrub retails for $44 AUD for 240ml and you can search for a nearby stockist at the ASAP website. (note: I was sent this product for consideration for review.)
I had a different post prepared for tonight, but I can’t get the Queensland floods off of my mind and it didn’t seem right posting a frivolous little review of a beauty product when my country is experiencing a large scale natural disaster. Within Queensland, an area the size of France & Germany combined has flooded. Today the banks of the Brisbane river broke and the CBD flooded. Lives have been lost, mostly children. At the last count that I heard 72 people were still missing. The situation does not appear to be getting any better, and even once the waters recede the clean up will take a long time. Donations are needed so if you have the funds and the inclination, please donate to either the QLD flood relief appeal or the RSPCA QLD to assist with animal rescue & shelter. If donating money is not an option, please spare a thought for my fellow Aussies who are struggling in Queensland tonight.
Goal #98 of my 101 things to do in 1001 days is to learn to meditate properly. So when I found out that the natural therapy centre near my house was offering an 8 week meditation course I signed up right away. I had my first class tonight, and I already know that I am going to love it. I adored everything about the class, from the location (inside a day care centre, which may seem strange to some but I have nothing but good memories of day care centres so I was instantly at ease) to the group of people in the class with me. After the hour of meditation we sat in a group and discussed what we thought about the experience, what we liked and disliked and what we thought we needed to improve on. I definitely need to improve the depth of my breathing, and about half way through my mind wandered a little bit that might have been because I was hungry… Lesson learned and I am eager to see what week 2 will bring!
