I just realised it’s been a long time since I posted a product review on the blog, but this blush is well worth the honour of being the first review in quite a while. I love my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (although I’ve been using it a lot less after dropping and smashing it), so I was really intrigued when the brand released this line of blush. To be honest I couldn’t really justify the price with a cupboard full of blush waiting to be used, so I tucked them away in the back of my mind for future reference. When Christmas came around last year I made sure to pop them on my wishlist, and was lucky enough to receive Ethereal Glow as part of my gift from Sebastian. This is a lovely blush, but I think the reason it works for me is because I have such fair skin. The blush is dusty and the payoff is faint, which means I need to apply a lot of product to get any sort of colour to show on the cheeks. When the colour does show it’s a stunning soft pink with a hint of shimmer to it. I love it so much I even included it in my capsule makeup collection for Autumn. The Hourglass Etheral Glow Blush retails for $46 AUD and is available for purchase from Mecca Cosmetica/Maxima.
I’m actually really surprised that I’ve never written a review of Dollface. It’s one of my most-worn blushes. I can’t speak highly enough of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush formula, it applies evenly and literally stays on my face ALL DAY. Even when I’m having a greasy face day. I can always guarantee that when I go into the bathroom after work to check my face isn’t looking too haggard for public viewing, my blush will still be lookin’ fresh. Dollface is a beautiful light pink shade that manages to compliment my skintone without making me look any ruddier than I naturally do. Tipsy is still my all-time favourite Tarte blush shade, but Dollface is a close second. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface retails for $26 USD and is available for purchase from Sephora.
Not all blush are created equal. Every now and then you come across a blush that somehow magically ‘lifts’ your entire face and makes you look a heck of a lot fresher than you feel. One such miracle is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in the shade Tipsy. I first saw this blush mentioned in an EssieButton video earlier in the year, and made a mental note to pick it up for myself the next time I placed a Sephora order. I’m so glad that I did, because it’s currently my favourite blush. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes are the best powder blushes on the market right now, in my opinion. I have a couple of other shades already, and the quality is unbeatable. They’re long lasting, not so heavily pigmented that they’re impossible to work into the skin, and are easily buildable. Tipsy is of the same standard as the other blushes I’ve tried from the range, and the colour is by far my favourite of the bunch. It’s a fresh peachy-pink that works well with my complexion and instantly brightens my face. My fellow fair-skinned girls need to jump on this immediately. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy retails for $26 USD and is available for purchase from Sephora.
