I know, I know, I know. I said that I was not going to be buying any more books for a while and yet, here we are. My justification is that in part of my new budget I have allowed myself book purchases at the start of every month. And what do you know, it’s the 1st of January! (happy new year, by the way) I am partaking in the 50 book challenge in 2011, so I will need plenty of new books to keep me going throughout the year. The 4 books I’ve ordered today all include some of my favourite themes – apocalypse, alien invasion and zombies. Awesome. Nothing too brain straining, but if I’m going to get through 50 books this year they can’t all be literary classics.
Pictured above are the books I managed to finish between June and December of 2010. Out of all of the books I read this year, the top three that I would recommend you read are: The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Room by Emma Donoghue and Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil by John Berendt. I am kind of struggling through the book I’m reading at the moment, so hopefully I can finish that off early in the New Year and start on something else.
One final Book Depository purchase for the year, as I am already planning my frugal ways for early 2011 and impulse buying books when I still have around 20 unread titles sitting on my shelf is something I need to stop doing asap. But 3 more books can’t hurt that much, can they?
