April Empties (P50P Pt 4)

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths – My local Coles doesn’t seem to stock the Nivea Fragrance-Free Wipes anymore, so I decided to pick these up and try them as a potential alternative. I’m glad I did because they have easily surpassed the Nivea wipes and become my new favourite. They are just as gentle as the Nivea, but with the additional bonus of not feeling ‘dry’ on the skin. If you’re a fan of the Cetaphil skin care range or have sensitive skin, these are definitely worth checking out.

15: Glasshouse Candle in Galapagos – Sebastian bought me this candle as part of my Christmas gift a couple of years ago, and it had been sitting half-burned in my cupboard ever since. I really love the Galapagos scent range, it’s fresh and summery and one of those fruity scents that desperately make me want a cocktail. I’m trying to make my way through the candles in my cupboard so that I have less stuff to move when we (eventually) move interstate, so I’m burning through one at a time and this was the next to go.

16: Nivea Men’s Power Refresh Shower Gel – Sebastian picked this up because he had run out of his usual body wash, and I absolutely could not wait for him to finish this up. This smelled so bad, I could barely stand to be in the bathroom with him when he was using it. He’s since made the switch back to more gourmand-type scented body washes and I am incredibly grateful.

March Empties (P50P Pt 3)

12: Paula’s Choice Hydralight One Step Face Cleanser – This is usually an automatic repurchase for me, but as this was not the last bottle in my stash I’m still including it in my Project 50 Pan empties tally. I’ve said it a million times, this is absolutely the best cleanser in the whole world and I love it.

13: Paula’s Choice Hydralight Moisture-Infusing Lotion – This is another product that I would usually repurchase right away but as I’m working on whittling down my stash, I have a few other moisturisers that I need to use up before purchasing anything new. Another long-term favourite of mine, this is a great moisturiser to use in summer because of how lightweight it feels on the skin.

14: Ecoya Reed Diffuser in Coconut & Elderflower – This is one of my favourite room scents, and I had this in our laundry area to help combat the unavoidable and undesirable fragrance of kitty litter. I would consider repurchasing this (I think this is the second or third one I’ve used up so far?), but I already had a backup of the vanilla version ready to go.

February Empties (P50P Pt 2)

08: Tanda Lychee & Black Tea Candle – I’ve had this candle sitting in my cupboard half-burned for a couple of years now. I go through phases with candles and for some reason I never seem to be able to burn one completely through in one go. I dug this one out of the cupboard because it was summer and I wanted a nice fresh scent.

09: Karuna Hydrating Face Mask – Unfortunately, I can’t give this mask a very good review as I had some sort of reaction to it that left my face red and inflamed the next day. I felt like it left a lot of product on my face once I removed the sheet mask, and my skin did feel hydrated that night, but what happened the next day discounts any of the positives for me.

10: Benefit Erase Paste in Light – One of my old school “holy grail” products, that has since been replaced but is still up there with products I would repurchase. I really like this for under-eye coverage, but I find it a bit too thick for spot coverage.

11: L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes in Black – I picked this up once I ran out of my last tube of Lancome Hypnose and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. This wore well throughout the day, and did add quite a bit of volume to the lashes. I also really liked the style of the wand, which is important for me when it comes to mascara. Having said that, I’ve now switched back to Lancome Hypnose because honestly nothing compares.

January Empties (P50P Pt 1)

01: L’Oreal Everstrong Reconstruct Shampoo – I really liked this shampoo, and I would happily purchase it again. I’ve found it difficult to find “drug store” hair products that don’t weigh down my fine hair, but this does a really good job of cleaning and leaving my hair soft without stripping or weighing it down.

02: L’Oreal Everstrong Reconstruct Shampoo – Don’t ask me why I had two of these tubes kicking around in my shower, but I did. As above, I loved this and would definitely repurchase it (after I’ve finished my Project Pan, of course).

03: Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner – This is probably my number one favourite drugstore hair care range. As with the L’Oreal Everstrong, this shampoo & conditioner duo works really well with fine hair, although I will say that this works a little bit better in adding silkiness and shine to the hair but they’re pretty much on-par in every other way.

04: Cutex Nourishing Nail Polish Remover – My first empty of the year! I had a back up of this ready to go once I’d finished this bottle because it’s my favourite nail polish remover. It smells good(?), and it works well to remove polish but still feels nice and gentle on my nails.

05: Givenchy Photo Perfexion Foundation in Perfect Ivory – I’m only able to include this in my Project 50 Pan tally because I already had a replacement in my stash ready and waiting. All future bottles of this will not be considered, because they will be replacements of something I’ve already finished up this year. Still my number one foundation.

06: Clinique Superbalanced Makeup in Alabaster – As above, I’m only able to include this because I had another bottle ready and waiting to go once this was finished. I only use this to help darken my Givenchy Foundation, which is slightly too light for me during summer. If I wear this alone it’s too dark, so I need to mix the two to find balance.

07: Clinique Chubby Stick in Mighty Mimosa – I was in two minds about including this, because I was seriously tempted to repurchase it. I talked myself out of it, because I have some other summery lip products that I want to try and finish up and get rid of. This is my most worn lip colour in the warmer months, I l-o-v-e it and I’m so sad to see it go.

December Empties

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser – This is my daily body cleanser, and because I use it every day I go through these large tubs frequently. This is an auto-repurchase for me, and I always have a back-up on my shelf ready to go for when the tub I’m using runs out. This is a great cleanser to use if you have sensitive skin.

Herbal Essences ‘Hello Hydration’ Shampoo – This is one of my favourite “drug store” shampoos, and I find I always go back to it when I’m looking for a new shampoo. It’s great for fine hair prone to oiliness (like mine), and I find it leaves my hair feeling really soft and silky. I know I’ll be repurchasing this in the future when I can’t think of anything else to try.

Original Source Coconut & Shea Butter Shower Gel – These inexpensive shower gels that you can buy at Coles and Woolworths are actually really good quality. This is Sebastian’s favourite from the range, so I pick it up whenever I spot it (and when he’s low in whatever shower gel he’s using at the moment). The smell is definitely more shea butter than coconut, and I know this because Sebastian loathes coconut scented things.

Paula’s Choice Hydralight Toner – Things that are upsetting: the Hydralight range has been removed from the Paula’s Choice website. This has been my holy grail skin care range for a few years now, so hopefully I can find something I like just as much from Paula’s Choice; otherwise it’s back to Dermalogica for me. I have a couple of these toners squirreled away, so I’m not completely out just yet. These are dark days.

Glasshouse ‘Night Before Christmas’ Candle – I’ve had this candle for around 5 years and that’s probably because I only burn it around Christmas. Whenever I smell it, I’m automatically transported to Christmas and it’s wonderful. To be honest the candle is not completely burned down, but the plastic lining of the glass has started to bubble out and melt so I decided it was time to let it go. I probably won’t repurchase this particular candle, but I’ll definitely be picking up another Christmas-themed one at the end of the year.

Paula’s Choice Clear Cleanser (travel size) – I ordered this with the intention of having Sebastian use it to help control his oily skin situation, instead I ended up using it on my hormonal acne. This worked really well, and I am going to purchase a full size version for the odd occasions when my skin breaks out. After Project 50 Pan!

Laura Mercier Loose Powder (in translucent) – This is my favourite loose powder, and I’m always equal part amazed and devastated when I use up a full container. I’m making my way through a Clinique powder at the moment, but I will definitely be returning to this in the future.

NARS Creamy Concealer (in vanilla) – This is my new holy-grail concealer. The only thing I don’t like about it is that because of the packaging I feel like there is a LOT left that I haven’t been able to use. Still, I’ll continue to repurchase it because I just love how god damn creamy it is.

Paula’s Choice Hydralight Moisturiser – This is my go-to moisturiser, and luckily I have one (maybe more?) stashed away for when this ran out. When that runs out I’m not sure what I’ll do. PANIC.

Dermalogica Active Moist – This is second to the throne as far as holy grail moisturisers are concerned, and I was happy to switch things up during December and finish off this tube. It’s lovely and lightweight which makes it a really good product to use during the warmer months of the year. Highly recommend.
