Givenchy Cosmetics Australia
You may remember that in some of my previous posts I have expressed deep sadness at the fact that Givenchy cosmetics were not available for purchase in Australia. The one site that I could purchase from didn’t always have the items in stock or the shades that I was after. (especially difficult considering their foundation is the only one I’ve ever found that matches my ghostly skin tone perfectly) So you can imagine my delight when Marie Claire mentioned on twitter this week that Givenchy beauty now have an Australian online site! My reaction was something like this:
How fitting that Liv is the face of Givenchy cosmetics… See what I did there? See??
I am planning on making a purchase (or twelve) when my self inflicted shopping ban is lifted. I am bummed that they don’t seem to stock the Skin Tonic Stretch Cream Foundation, but they do have the Photo Perfexion Foundation in my shade. Miracle of miracles! (if you all flock to the site and the photo perfexion in perfect ivory sells out I will hunt you down.)
In other amazing news, I am on holiday next week. Please send through any brilliant blog ideas that you might have and I can steal. I will have extra time to blog, but my brain has already gone on vacation and taken it’s inspiration along with it.

Product Review – Givenchy Skin Tonic Stretch Cream
As I came to the end of my bottle of Givenchy Photo Perfexion Foundation I couldn’t help but panic. Finding a foundation that suits my skintone is something I am constantly struggling with. This wouldn’t be much of a problem if Givenchy cosmetics were readily available in Australia – which they are not. Thankfully though, I have a friend who uses Givenchy foundation as well, and as we are the same shade in Photo Perfexion, I figured we would be the same in the Skin Tonic Stretch Cream. Thankfully, we were!
Aside from being one of the only brands to make foundations light enough to suit my skin tone, Givenchy creates foundations that are beautifully presented – and they smell great. The Skin Tonic Stretch Cream is a very rich foundation, it’s thicker than any I’ve used in the past. Even though it’s quite thick, it spreads smoothly and offers even and surprisingly sheer coverage. It smells lovely, faintly like roses and oh-so-fresh. The staying power is good, and by the end of the working day, I still look like I have some coverage on my face. (I have oily/combination skin and foundation is known to melt or disappear off of my face, so this is a great sign!)
What is not so great about this product…
The only real problem I have with this foundation is the packaging. Although it looks beautiful in the little jar, having to scoop the product out with a scoop to apply is kind of annoying.

The Beauty Cupboard – Makeup Pt 1
As with my skincare favourites, I have a set of “must haves” for makeup. These products are always in my makeup bag. (and if not, they are at the top of my shopping list to be purchased asap!)
After years of searching for the holy grail, I think I’ve finally found the perfect foundation for my oh so fair, oh so temperamental skin. The only downside is that it is not oil free, but I think that is a small price to pay for a foundation shade that suits my skin perfectly. The foundation is light enough to be worn during the day, and can be built up for a flawless night time look. If only they stocked Givenchy foundation in Australia! I spend way too much time trying to find places online that I can buy it from. I bought my current bottle from Sephora in New York, and am hoping to make it last as long as possible!
I love this product so much. I only ever use it on my cheeks (yet to try it on my lips) and it’s the perfect shade of pink. It blends smoothly onto skin, and lasts all day long. I apply mine with a foundation brush, but you can easily apply with fingertips – (some creme blushes are uneven and blotchy when applied with fingers, not this one!) Beware when buying Becca Cheek Cremes though, they are so beautiful you will get addicted and need one in every shade!
After running out of my long time favourite mascara – Lancome Definicils – I decided to give Hypnose a try. It has a similar lengthening effect to Definicils, but with the added benefit of some oomph as far as volume goes. It’s a great black-black mascara, that doesn’t flake during the day, lengthens and thickens lashes. What more could you want?
