Hair Week / Hair Inspiration

I’ve decided that for the next week, The Belle Lumiere is going to be all about hair. For no particular reason other than the fact that I thought it would be fun to do a themed post week. To start, I’ve decided to post one of my favourite hair styles at the moment. It’s a simple twist and pin style that can add a little oomph to an otherwise simple outfit. It’s incredibly easy to do, and I first saw this sort of hair style over at the lovely Hair Romance’s youtube channel. Her video shows you how to recreate this style in minutes!

Hair @ Milan Fashion Week – Blumarine

Today we’re jet setting across to Milan Fashion Week – specifically the Blumarine show, where Pantene’s Global Ambassedor and renowned international stylist Sam McKnight took the reins. The theme for the show was “La Dolce Vita Modern”, and the hair looks fresh, natural and most importantly – wearable. “I wanted the girls to look like the stars of a Fellini film, but in a young, fresh way. The collection was very sexy and glamorous and I wanted to let the clothes do the talking, so I created a fresh young pony tail that didn’t appear over-groomed to create tension between the clothes and the hair, a modern twist on La Dolce Vita Bombshell look,” says Pantene Global Style Ambassador, Sam McKnight. Want this look for yourself? Follow these easy steps:

01) Wash hair with Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Shampoo & Condition for a light, floaty finish with no additional weight.

02) Apply Pro-V Nature Fusion Leave On Creme to damp hair to add extra nourishment for the hair and to counter any of the negative effects of overstyling.

03) Apply Pro-V Body Builder Mousse to the root area and blow-dry in to create volume at the crown. Leave the rest of the hair to air dry for a natural look (or alternatively, blow dry using a paddle brush if you have less time)

04) Use a medium barrelled curling tong to add natural looking summery waves to the bottom lengths of the hair and backcomb the crown section using a fine tooth comb to create lift at the roots.

05) Using a soft bristle brush, smooth the hair back over the backcombed section and secure into a low polytail at the nape of the neck.

06) Leave the front section loose in a natural parting and tuck behind the ears, allowing a few tendrils to fall free to frame the face. Pull a small section of hair free and wind it around the base of the ponytail to cover the elastic.

07) Finish with Pro-V Body Builder Hairspray to set the style in place.
