As a testament to my epic failure of Project 20 Pan, here are the beauty products I’ve been spending money on lately. Givenchy Photo Perfexion Foundation (my holy grail foundation, and a replacement for the bottle that I am currently running dry on), YSL Touche Eclat (a re-purchase of a much loved product that I’ve not had in my collection for a little while now and I’ve fallen instantly back in love with it), Biotherm White D-Tox BB Cream (as per my recent review, this is a new infatuation of mine), Moroccan Oil Glimmer Shine Spray (I recently ran out of my Fekkai Sheer Shine Glossing Mist, so this was a replacement for that) and Essie’s Pink Parka Polish (I’ve been lusting after this ever since seeing it on Michele1218). Not a bad effort.
Beauty brand Kiehl’s recently launched their very own Australian website, showcasing their product range at the new lowered Australian price points. I decided to try out their website to see what the service was like (and to take advantage of the free lip gloss gift with purchase they had at the time) and placed an order for a few products I’ve been dying to try for quite a while now. I ordered the Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner and the Ultra Facial Moisturizer and received free samples of the Creme de Corps, the Ultra Facial Cream and Lip Gloss in Black Raspberry as a gift with purchase. I liked the personal touch that came in the form of a handwritten note from one of the Kiehl’s staff. Unnecessary, but certainly sweet. (note: Yes I realise that I am currently on Project 20 Pan, and yes I realise this makes me a big ol’ failure, and no I don’t care.)
I was planning on doing a feature on my earring collection (as requested by Claire), but taking into consideration the fact that I threw even more money at ASOS and Shopbop over the past week or so I figured I might as well share my purchases with the world.
(In my defense, every single item I purchased was on sale…) I had been looking for a nice pair of wedge heeled closed toe ankle boots for a while, so when I saw the above pair on ASOS I couldn’t resist. I also had the leopard print scarf saved in my to-buy folder on my bookmarks and lo and behold when I searched for it, it was on sale. Bonus. The top I was up in the air about, but I thought it would be nice & easy to throw on over jeans with flats to wear to the movies or something like that. So into the basket it went. I also broke all of my wardrobe shopping rules and impulse bought some jeggings (don’t judge me) despite them being the absolute wrong style of jeans for my body type. I had to buy something to push me over the $100 mark to qualify for free international shipping, so I also ordered this baggy jumper to wear over the jeggings to save the world the sight of me in jean style leggings.
This was my “last hurrah” splurge before embarking on Project 10 Pan recently. Any beauty obsessed girl worth her salt knows about the now cult-status Naked Palette from Urban Decay. They will also know that this precious gem has been sold out for A VERY LONG TIME. Granted, I could have traded one of my organs for enough cash to buy one from someone selling them on ebay but miracle of miracles Sephora decided to get them in stock. And lo and behold… They are still in stock. Also shown in this haul: MAC Lustre Lipstick in Lustering, MAC Fashionflower Beauty Powder in Apha Girl, MAC Cremeblend Blush in So Sweet, So Easy, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Adventure, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Bonheur, Benefit D’Finer D’Liner, the Laura Mercier Silk Road Eye and Cheek Palette and a tube of the Mirenesse Sexy Secret Weapon Mascara which was a gift from Adore Beauty.
I go through phases with candles. Well, two phases really, being obsessed with candles and not giving two hoots about candles. Lately I’ve been in the first phase, and have been burning candles practically every evening, so it made sense for me to buy a whole heap of stuff from fellow beauty blogger Anita‘s store (co-run with her mum) ‘Soya Want A Candle’. I ordered the Metro Jar Candles in “Buttercream”, “Caramel Apple”, “Coconut Milk & Peach” and “Sugar Cookie” and melts in “Champagne & Strawberries”, “Creme Brulee”, “Egyptian Musk”, “Lolly Shop” and “Pina Colada”. Anita was lovely enough to throw in a few extra samples of the melts in “Frangipani”, “Cucumber Melon” & “Gardenia” for me. The candles are inexpensive (read: great value for money) and smell AMAZING. I believe that the shop is closed for the moment, as Anita’s mum is away on holiday. But definitely check out their Etsy store if you want to take a look at the rest of the range.
