Top 10 Haircare Products

I have previously posted my top 10 makeup and skincare products, so I thought it might be a good time to post my top 10 haircare products! It was actually a lot harder for me to choose my top 10 hair products than in the other categories… I don’t think I am 100% there yet with my “holy grail” of hair products just yet. In any case, these are the 10 I have chosen today. Toni & Guy Iron-It Heat Defense Spray, Moroccanoil, Terax Crema Conditioner, Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo, Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner, Pantene 3 Minute Miracle, Pantene Stay Smooth Hairspray, Fekkai Apple Cider Clearing Rinse, Unico Hair Serum, Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo. What are your top 10 haircare products?

Product Review: Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Hairspray

There is a rather epic battle raging in my bathroom at the moment. It’s a war between my two new favourite hairsprays. The first is the new Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Flexible Style Hairspray (the second will be named at a later date). Now, I have the kind of hair that will usually hold an amazing curl for oh, 5 minutes before dropping into a limp knotted mess. I’ve been using the new Herbal Essences Hairspray on and off for around 2 weeks now, and has revolutionised my daily hair styling. On the mornings that I can’t really be bothered doing much with my hair I will blow dry it, spritz it with the Flexible Style Hairspray and pin it up in a bun. I can leave it for 15 minutes or so, take it out and I have a gorgeous natural wave in my hair that lasts the entire working day.* (yes you read that correctly) When I can actually be bothered, the spray works just as well with properly styled curls. The spray is a little bit sticky compared to other sprays that I’ve used, but doesn’t leave any crunchiness to the hair. (pet peeve!) As with all Herbal Essences products, this smells amazing. The scent range is “voilet splash” which is a lovely floral fragrance that does linger in your hair, but is not at all overpowering. The Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softle Flexible Hairspray retails for $6.99 AUD and is available from all leading supermarkets and pharmacies.

My Rating: 8.5/10

* note: I have super fine hair, and a lot of it. If you have thick or unruly hair, I’m not sure how this product will work for you with the styling that I mentioned.

Product Review – Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Range

Thanks to the kind folk at Herbal Essences, I was able to road test a few of the new products from their “Long Term Relationship” range. Surely there is some kind of universal connection here – goal #6 on my list for 2010 is to grow my hair half way down my back. So these products and I are obviously destined to be together, no? Okay, enough drama and on to the review.

Long Term Relationship Shampoo/Conditioner

What is great about this product…

First things first, the smell is amazing. As always with Herbal Essences, the smell is strong and delicious. This time the combination is red raspberry/satin and it is yummy. Not as fruity as some of the other products in the range, but I like it. I think the addition of satin adds sophistication to the fragrance. The shampoo itself is rich and lathers easily. It leaves my hair feeling clean without the dreaded tangling or squeakiness. The conditioner is not super-thick, but it is hydrating and leaves hair feeling silky and tangle free. My favourite thing about these products is the fact that the scent actually stays with your hair after washing. There is nothing better than having sweet smelling hair! The products are also great value for money, both retailing at 6.99 AUD.

What is not so great about this product…

Honestly, nothing that I can think of.

Long Term Relationship Split End Protector Mask

What is great about this product…

Simply put – it smells great, it only takes 3 minutes to use, and it works! I blowdry & use my GHD practically every day, so I am always on the lookout for products that aid in saying bye bye to split ends and flyaways. I have used this product 3 times, and my split ends seem to be a lot less noticable, which is great. I’m not sure what the RRP for the mask is, but I am sure that it is reasonable, as all of the other products in the line are excellent value for money. Here is hoping I can reach my goal with the help of these products!

What is not so great about this product…

The packaging could be improved. I have never been a fan of hair/body products that come in a tub. I find that way too much water gets inside the container, and it can be bothersome trying to screw the lid back on when your hands are covered in product!
