Product Review: Burt’s Bees Hibiscus Tinted Lip Balm

The official Liptember colour for 2011 is Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in the shade Hibiscus. Despite being a huge fan of the Burt’s Bees products (and brand in general) I’d never used one of their tinted lip balms before, so happily I am loving the shade and lip balm so it’s no struggle at all for me to be wearing this on my lips every day this month. The balm looks like a berry pink shade in the tube, but on the lips it translates to a beautiful peach-pink colour.

The product applies very smoothly and feels lovely and moisturising on the lips. The wear is pretty much on par with most lip balms, with it lasting for around 2 hours or so before re-application is needed. Not only is this tinted lip balm lovely to wear, if you purchase a tube in the month of September, proceeds will go towards Liptember fundraising! (Psst… feel free to hop over to my Liptember profile and sponsor me if you’re feeling generous!) The Burt’s Bees Tinted Lipbalm in Hibiscus retails for $14.95 AUD and can be purchased from David Jones and MYER stores nation wide. (note: I was sent this product as a part of Liptember and for consideration for review)

Liptember 2011

“Liptember? What is Liptember??!!” I hear you cry. Well settle down for a minute and let me explain. Liptember is a once a year, month long campaign to raise awareness and funds for women’s health. Funds raised through lippy sales, sponsorship, fundraising and direct donations are donated to the Centre For Women’s Mental Health and Lifeline Australia. You may have heard the word Liptember floating around the blogsphere lately, and as I’m about to embark on my very first challenge, I’m going to put it out there and ask you to hop on board the charity chain and sponsor me to wear the hell out of a Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm in September! This year’s Liptember lippy is the Burt’s Bees Hibiscus Tinted Lip Balm, which can be purchased from the essentials counter at any Myer department store throughout Australia. Once you’ve purchased your lippy you can sign up at the Liptember website and start asking people to sponsor you. (Like I have, and am about to do.) And then you wear that gorgeous lip colour with pride all throughout the month of September. If you’re not planning on signing up for this year’s challenge please feel free to head over to the Liptember site and sponsor me. (If you are going to sign up and require sponsorship please post a comment with your details so I can add you to the bottom of this post so people can donate to you if they wish to do so.) Happy Liptember to all!
