June Wishlist

I’m not sure if it’s temporary insanity or the fact that I’m on Project 10 Pan at the moment (perhaps a bit of both?), but I’ve not really been inspired by much in the way of cosmetics lately. There are a few things still lingering on my wishlist that I’ve not gotten around to purchasing as of yet, but nothing new has popped up that I have the urge to buy ASAP. Having said that, there are four products that are still happily sitting at my “Do Want” list right now, and they are:

01: NARS Lipstick in Carthage – I have lusted after this lipstick ever since seeing it on the gorgeous Emma Stone at the Met Gala Ball earlier this year. It’s bright, it’s pink and I need it in my life. (confession: I ordered this on the weekend, oops.) 02: Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille Fragrance – This is my all time favourite fragrance, and my must-have scent for Winter so the fact that I am currently without a bottle is almost a crime. (Almost.)

03: MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick – Keeping on trend with my current obsession with bright coloured lipsticks, this cult and must-have red lipstick is definitely one I have my eye on for future purchase. 04: Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers Nail Polish – Do I really have to explain this one? I don’t think so. Look how pretty it is!

Beauty Haul: MAC, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier, Benefit & Chanel

This was my “last hurrah” splurge before embarking on Project 10 Pan recently. Any beauty obsessed girl worth her salt knows about the now cult-status Naked Palette from Urban Decay. They will also know that this precious gem has been sold out for A VERY LONG TIME. Granted, I could have traded one of my organs for enough cash to buy one from someone selling them on ebay but miracle of miracles Sephora decided to get them in stock. And lo and behold… They are still in stock. Also shown in this haul: MAC Lustre Lipstick in Lustering, MAC Fashionflower Beauty Powder in Apha Girl, MAC Cremeblend Blush in So Sweet, So Easy, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Adventure, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Bonheur, Benefit D’Finer D’Liner, the Laura Mercier Silk Road Eye and Cheek Palette and a tube of the Mirenesse Sexy Secret Weapon Mascara which was a gift from Adore Beauty.

Pictured above are my most recent beauty acquisitions: Bath + Body Works Black Raspberry Vanilla Shower Gel & Triple Moisture Body Cream, Dermalogica Concealing Spot Treatment, Barrier Repair and Sheer Tint Redness Relief (all sent for consideration for review), MAC Eyeshadow in Phloof, Eyeshadow in Orb, Softsparkle Eye Pencil in Iris Accents and Mineralize Blush in Buddy Up, Benefit Cha Cha Tint (sent for review), Bobbi Brown Lipgloss in Hot Pink, Co Bigelow Apple Rose Salve, Co Bigelow Blueberry Rose Salve, Liplicious Signature Vanilla Berry Tasty Lipgloss, Liplicious Pineapple Juice Tasty Lipgloss and Co Bigelow Organics Strawberries & Cream Moisturizing Lip Shine.

Product Review: MAC Eyeshadow in Naked Lunch

And now to wrap up what feels like a very long and confused ‘eyeshadow week’, allow me to introduce you all to my favourite eyeshadow; MAC’s Naked Lunch. I originally bought this shadow after reading countless positive reviews on it, and also after discovering that Selena Gomez apparently loves it. (Yes, I’m just that cool.) Also, I couldn’t really resist the name of the shadow… It’s perfectly quirky. As for the shadow itself, the perfect all over lid colour and also looks great as a highlight colour with darker shadows.

It’s classified as a ‘frost’ shadow, so it does give a bit of sheen to the eyelid which may put some people off. I quite like it though, and as the shade is similar to my natural skintone, the frost effect doesn’t stand out too much. It’s the perfect shimmery wash of champagne colour, and I wear it pretty much every day (when I’m not wearing MAC’s Blanc Type that is). As with all other MAC eyeshadows I’ve tried, it is smooth to apply, densely pigmented and long wearing. MAC’s Naked Lunch eyeshadow retails for $33 AUD and can be purchased from the MAC website.

Product Review: MAC Eyeshadow in Blanc Type

For all the porcelain skinned girls out there, let me introduce you to the perfect matte beige eyeshadow. MAC’s ‘Blanc Type’. This has been my go-to base powder eyeshadow since the day it arrived on my doorstep. It’s the perfect neutral for my eyes, and I wear it on it’s own, or layered under other shadows, depending on the look I’m going for. It was incredibly hard to swatch as it’s basically the same colour as the skin on my arm, but I did my best.

To be honest it’s not the smoothest of eyeshadows that I’ve ever used, and I’m not sure if that is something that happens a lot with MAC matte shadows, as this is the first I’ve ever used. I do still love it though, and as I mentioned earlier I’ve been wearing it practically every day. The MAC eyeshadow ‘Blanc Type’ retails for $33 AUD at the MAC Australian website, but you can currently snatch it up for $19 AUD over at Strawberrynet.

Blog Sale 29/01/2011

Hi guys! I am once again in my “purge purge purge” cycle of life, where everything that has not seen much love or was just plain wrong for me gets sold or given away to a more loving home. I’m constantly trying to change my attitude towards ‘belongings’ and material objects, and for the most part live with a simple and “less is more” attitude, but sometimes I realise that I just have way too much stuff. Like today. So here is my solution: blog sale! I know you guys share my love of beauty products, so I hope there is something in my collection that will catch your eye.

Please note: None of the items I have put up for sale were sent for me by PR companies. These are all items that I paid for myself, or received in some kind of swap.

As always before I get started posting the items up for sale, I’ll mention a few ‘rules’ -

01: Each sale is final. I will not accept any returned goods, so please ask me questions on items that you are interested before offering to buy them.

02: I will ship interstate and internationally if anyone from overseas is interested in buying any items listed. (Australian shipping: $4 for 1 item $6 for 2-5 items and $10 for 5 or more items – if you’re really feeling generous. International shipping: $10 for 1-5 items $15 for 5 or more items)

03: All payments to be made by Pay Pal please, and in Australian dollars.

04: I will post the items within 3 days of payment being completed (not pending) via Pay Pal.

05: The sale will work on a first come-first served basis. Please email me regarding items that you are interested in purchasing. If you have any questions about products, I will hold that particular item for you until you make a decision.

06: All items are genuine, and I will give honest descriptions about the usage of items, and how much product is left etc.

Hopefully that covers everything! Now, on to the sale…
