Ahh, farewell to August. I am already in a Spring state of mind and looking forward to the warmer weather, though I know that feeling will pass as soon as we have our first 40 degree day. My favourite products throughout the month of August were as follows: NP Set Calming Pre-Foundation Primer, OPI Bubble Bath Polish, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Coral Berry, Lanolips Lip Ointment in Sunshine and Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser.

I have always been on the fence about face primers, and I’ve never been shy of saying so. I am about to eat my words though because I can honestly say that the NP Set Calming Pre-Foundation Primer is now a holy grail product for me. There, I said it. I am now officially converted to the world of face priming. I was sold on this primer after the very first use. I suffer from quite a bit of redness in the face, and the green tint to this primer really helps to cover that up and settle my skin down.
The product comes out of the tube quite thick but sheers out and sinks into the skin really quickly, with no green residue left over (in the swatch above I have blended some of the primer into the skin above the green blob). It feels very calming on my skin, and the aloe extract, cucumber extract and hint of peppermint in the primer leave my face feeling tingly and fresh. I’ve come to notice that the primer also contains a very small amount of shimmer that helps make my skin look radiant, all the while helping to tame the oil slick that my forehead likes to become at around 2pm each day. I also love the fact that this primer does not break me out at all. And I’ve been using it every day for a few weeks now. Brilliant. The NP Set Calming Pre-Foundation Primer retails for $33 AUD and will be available for purchase as of October 10 2011 from David Jones, Target stores and pharmacies nationally. (note: I was sent this product for consideration for review)

Two years ago, Napoleon Perdis released NP Set, a makeup collection with affordable price points, natural ingredients and easy to use products. The product range draws inspiration from the world’s fashion capitals, with all of the products named after these important global destinations. Fancy a silver luminizer that evokes London by night? A rose lip gloss that transports you to the sun-kissed Bahamas? Or a burgundy and gold shadow duo the girl from Ipanema would covet? NP Set makes jet-set glamour available to everyone. The line is now expanding, with three new product lines added to the original collection. Releasing this spring are enticing faux lashes, stylish bags and professional-grade brushes.
The NP Set Faux Lashes (retailing for $11.99 AUD), NP Set Bag Collection (retailing for $12.99 to $29.99 AUD) and the NP Set Brushes (retailing for $9.99 to $29.99 AUD) were available as of October 14th 2010 for purchase online from NP Set Cosmetics or from David Jones, Target, Napoleon Perdis Concept Stores and selected pharmacies and salons nation wide.
