Shop My Stash: October

NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Carthage – This is probably my all time favourite lipstick, and I dug it out of my collection to wear when I went clubbing with friends earlier in the month. It’s a hot pink (blue toned) shade with amazing lasting power and is ideal for a night out on the town.

Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner in Eggplant – I have green eyes so if the purple option of any kind of eye liner is available I usually try and pick it up. This was sent to me by Maybelline in a care package a little while ago and I’ve just started using it frequently and am in love with it (just a quiet little FYI: I find the formula of the Maybelline gel eyeliners to be much better than the Bobbi Brown ones). I plan on posting a full review soon.

The Body Shop Born Lippy in Raspberry – I don’t tend to wear a lot of makeup on the weekend so when I want an easy lip product that I can grab on the go, I reach for this. I seemed to use this a lot more than usual during October, which I think might be due to the fact that I finished up my MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner.

Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart – I really love this product although I rarely use it due to the large amount of lip products I have in my collection (and the fact that I’m focusing on using up two particular products at the moment because of my Project 100 Pan). It gives a nice little pop of colour to the lips when I’m having an otherwise lazy makeup day.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Porcelain Pink – This is my favourite cheek colour to wear if I’m going to be wearing a bright lip shade because it gives a very slight flush to the cheeks but also adds a bit of a bronze glow to the skin.

Shop My Stash: September

Bloom Sheer Colour Cream in Coy – I reviewed this during the month, and it was my go-to cheek colour throughout all of September.

Inglot 105 Lipstick – I wanted to try something different so I wore this lipstick a few times throughout September. It’s a lot more orange than I remember it being when I first picked it up from Inglot, so I use it more as a lip stain than a full blown lipstick.

MAC Gleam Eyeshadow – I’ve been all about the matte eyeshadow lately, but I’ve been wearing this along my lash line and in the inner corner of my eyes for a little hint of gold shimmer.

Sax Bronzer in Holiday Romance – For some reason I decided that I wanted to wear bronzer in September. I don’t really know why, and although it was something of a fleeting fancy I did get quite a bit of wear out of this product during that short phase. (note: I would not recommend this as the best bronzer for super fair skinned girls like myself. If you’re wanting something with a more natural pink toned colour I would opt for Bobbi Brown’s Illuminating Facial Bronzer in Antigua instead.)

Laura Mercier Blush in Lush Nectarine – I impulse purchased this blush after seeing Michele1218 mention it in a video and thankfully when it arrived I really liked it. This looked nice paired with the SAX bronzer but I think I’ll be tucking this away for a little while until I get a little bit more colour in my face.

Shop My Stash: August

ModelCo Lip Gloss in Striptease: This lip gloss came in a Lust Have It box earlier this year, and it’s probably one of the best things to ever come out of my subscription, to be honest. I’ve been wearing this on it’s own and also layered over the Lanolips lip ointment just to give a glossier finish.

b Collection by Bloom Cheek Tint in Yarra Valley: I don’t often wear a peachy/coral cheek look in the cooler months of the year, to me it’s more of a Summer thing but for some reason I dug this blush out of my collection and I just can’t seem to get enough of it. This is one of my all time favourite blush colours, it’s super flattering on fair skin plus the formulation of the b Collection cheek tints is really lovely and super easy to work with.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black: I really love the look of black winged liquid eyeliner but I hate that when I attempt to apply it to my eyes at 6 o’clock in the morning it usually ends in disaster. When I do manage to get this working for me I really like it and I find that the Stila liquid eyeliner lasts well compared to others I’ve tried.

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso: I’ve been wearing this over the top of the Yarra Valley cheek tint to help make it last throughout the work day. I love this blush and I wore it nearly every day during summer last year. Pretty.

Lanolips Lip Ointment in Sunshine: I feel like everything I opted to pull out of my stash this month is revolving around the b Collection cheek tint because I also chose this lip colour to compliment the shade of the blush. This is one of my favourite lip colours, and it will forever remind me of Sydney because I’ve worn it ever time I’ve been there on holiday. It’s a really pretty orange colour that sheers out to a peachy sort of tint on the lips.

Shop My Stash: July

In an attempt to try and utilise some of the products that I own but rarely use, I’ve been grabbing a few items out of my collection at the start of each month to try and work into my daily makeup routine. I’m going to do a little roundup each month of the products I’ve been using and what I think of them. These are the products that I shopped from my stash during July –

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl – I’m usually pretty loyal to my Benefit High Beam, but I’ve been using this liquid illuminator quite a lot recently. It gives a pretty peachy gold sheen to the cheeks which helps to brighten my corpse-pale face on early winter mornings.

Becca Lip & Cheek Creme in Rosebud – Honestly, I can’t wait to finish this blush. Not because I don’t like it but because it’ll be the second blush I’ve ever finished completely and that is a massive achievement. Hooray for me!

Benefit BeneTint – I completely forgot that I owned this (possibly because it’s so tiny and I had it tucked away at the back of my makeup storage) but I’m really glad that I dug it out to use it again because it gives the prettiest rosy tint to the lips. It’s designed to be a dual-use product but I stick to using it as a lip stain only.

MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study – I wear this on my lids on most weekends when I can’t be bothered putting in much effort. A simple swipe of this across the lids gives a lovely champagne sheen.

MAC Gleam Eyeshadow – My friend gave me this eyeshadow because it didn’t really suit her makeup style anymore, but it is absolutely perfect for me. It’s very similar to MAC’s Naked Lunch eyeshadow in that it’s a neutral champagne colour with a satin finish. Which is what around 75% of my eyeshadows are. Nice.

Project 50 Pan: Shop My Stash

Although I’ve been struggling a bit with sticking to the no-buy aspect of Project 50 Pan lately, I’m still making some headway when it comes to finishing up products. One trick I’ve been using to help me attempt to stay on track is the ‘shop my stash’ method. This is actually a lot more legal than it sounds. Basically each week I pull 3-5 makeup items from my collection and make an effort to use them in my daily routine. At the end of each week I store these products in a container next to my makeup storage and choose new products for the week ahead. This way I am getting full use of my entire collection (or at least I will eventually) and I’m also rediscovering products that I own that I had completely forgotten about.

A few other tricks I’ve been using to help me whittle down my stash are:

– Watch Project 10 Pan videos on youtube when I’m feeling uninspired

– Use products that I don’t necessarily like, but want to finish up at least once a week (this is mostly regarding skin, hair and body products ie: cleanser, toner, shampoo etc)

– Re-organise my products (this often causes me to stumble across products that I completely forgot existed, or just generally puts into perspective how much I own already)
