Work Style Monday: Personal Uniform

After putting the call out via Twitter for Australian based fashion/style blogs that were aimed more at the office working 20-30 something year olds of the world than the hipster teens that seem to rule the blogsphere at the moment, small pickings were offered back and I was kind of disappointed. (If you know of any, please don’t hesitate to let me know via the comments below) I thought it might be a fun idea to incorporate something of a Work Style aspect into the blog. If this is not your area of interest I do apologise, but as I work full time I find work style a very interesting (and useful) topic. Today’s subject is my personal work ‘uniform’. The corporation that I work for does provide official uniforms for free, but as most of what is on offer is not my style, and not compulsary; I tend to wear my own items to work instead. I have something of a personal dress code that I wear to work, which can be altered to suit the weather and different seasons (add tights, coats and boots in winter, switch up to peep toe shoes and sheer blouses in the summer). At the very basis of this ‘uniform’ are the following pieces:

01. A chic blouse

02. A soft blend cardigan

03. A pencil skirt with a twist

04. Classic black pumps

05. An oversized handbag

As long as I have a few of these staple pieces sitting in my wardrobe ready to go on a Monday I am never at a loss for what to wear to work. It’s saved me a lot of time and hassle, I assure you. If you work in an office environment please let me know if you have your own personal uniform, or if you’d like to take this idea and blog your own – please let me know so I can share it with everyone next week in Work Style Monday. Also, if you have any ideas or requests for future posts please let me know in the comments below. Happy Monday everyone!
