I mentioned in a recent post that mineral foundations give me the irrits. Literally, as they have an annoying tendency to make my face itch. After posting about that issue I was contacted by one of the representatives for Vani-T Cosmetics, offering me a sample of their mineral foundation to trial. Apparently their foundation would not make me want to scratch my face off in the heat. Awesome! When it arrived I was initially hesitant, as the shade appeared to be way too dark for me. As it turns out, it is. But this is not a problem, as the shade I was sent is relatively high up on the shade scale, and as it’s not crazy dark on me there is hope that one of the paler shades will suit me fine.
As you can see in the swatch above, Truffle is a relatively dark shade of foundation (on my skin tone at least) but blends out to provide lovely, sheer coverage. As much as I like this foundation, I really don’t think that this shade is wearable on me, so I might have to ship this over to my Sydney-dwelling sister who was blessed with olive skin (Hi Shannon…) and purchase one of the lighter shades for myself. As for the general wear and feel of the foundation itself, it was lovely. One of my pet peeves with mineral powders is that they tend to pill on my skin and look a bit patchy. (I think this is due to my oily/combination complexion but if there is some other reason for this please let me know!) This foundation didn’t give me that weird patchy look at all, it was really smooth and surprisingly long wearing. And surprise, surprise, my face didn’t itch. The coverage was good, as with most mineral powder foundations you can wear it sheer or build it up if you feel you need more coverage. The Vani-T Products are all natural, contain no parabens, are high in vitamins, active ingredients, luscious natural oils and pure botanicals and are not tested on animals. The Flawless Finish Mineral Powder foundation retails for $63 AUD and can be purchased online from the Vani-T website. (note: this product was sent to me for consideration for review)
