I had never heard of Australian cosmetics brand SAX Cosmetics, until recently when a little care package including some of their products arrived at my door. I am very glad that I now know about this brand because I am absolutely loving their mascara (and their eyeshadow palette, but that uber-gushing review is for another time). The product is designed to be “A wonder mascara that works as an all-in-one creating volume, leaving lashes ultra-thick, conditioned and curled from base-to-tip”. I find that it does all of these things really well, and lives up to all that it promises. It didn’t smudge throughout the day (bonus) and after the first wear, didn’t seem to flake at all. For some reason on that initial wear it did flake, and I didn’t like the consistency of the product as much. Now that I’ve used it a couple of times I really like it.
As you can see from the picture, the mascara does a pretty good job of lengthening and adding volume to my lashes without being too clumpy or creating gross spider-leg lashes that some mascaras can grace us with. I quite like the packaging as well, it’s sleek and attractive and it kind of reminds me of a silver version of the big fat gold YSL mascara tubes. The SAX Wonder Lash Dramatic Volume Mascara retails for $17.50 AUD and is available for purchase from pharmacies across Australia. To find a stockist near you, please visit the SAX Cosmetics website. (note: I was sent this product for consideration for review)
The time has come to embark on another Project 10 Pan. I usually force myself on to these when I’ve been spending way too frivolously on cosmetic items that I don’t necessarily need. This week I ordered a makeup palette that contains products that I’m pretty sure I already have dupes of in my collection. But gosh isn’t it pretty? Anyway, it seemed like a good time to start up a Project 10 Pan as I want to start saving for my upcoming trips to Sydney, Bali and the US that will be happening over the next year and a half. So this P10P will encompass all beauty products (makeup, skin care, hair care and body products) and will only include products that I don’t plan on repurchasing straight after finishing the first one up. I used to include those sorts of products in the past, but it doesn’t really make much sense when the purpose is to try and use up some of the products in my stash that never see the light of day. So here we go! Each end of month “empties” post will now also double as a Project 10 Pan update post. Wish me luck!
