Product Review: Lanolips Lip Ointment in Rhubarb

One of my earliest memories from when I started beauty blogging was my very first ‘lemming’ product. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s basically a term to describe a product that you obsess over because you’ve seen countless people (or sometimes even just one) rave about it. For me, that product was the Lanolips lip ointment. I can remember at least 6 million people recommending this product (note: my mind may have slightly exaggerated this number) so I set off to hunt around the entire city (read: my local shopping centre) until I found it. I’m so glad that I discovered this because it’s been one of my favourite lip products for over a year now.

It’s quite a thick gloss but doesn’t feel tacky or sticky on the lips at all. It’s also quite long lasting and I find that if I apply it with my makeup in the morning, it usually lasts until morning tea time before I have to think about reapplying. The shade rhubarb is lovely and natural, and wears like a “your lips but better” colour on me. The only issue I have with this product is the packaging. The hard flat tip of the gloss makes it somewhat impossible (or at the very least rather uncomfortable) to apply directly to lips, it’s much easier to apply to your finger and then on the lips. The Lanolips Lip Ointment in Rhubarb retails for $13.95 AUD and is available for purchase from Adore Beauty online.

7 Thoughts on “Product Review: Lanolips Lip Ointment in Rhubarb

  1. I read your review wrong at first and thought you said it lasted until tea time and i was like WOW that is an amazing product.

Although hey, if I put a product on at 7am and it lasts me til 10am I’m pretty happy. I’ve never tried lanolips – I think i need to give this one a go πŸ™‚

  2. It is such a favourite for so many people, I love Dark Honey! They are also available at and we ship worldwide πŸ™‚

  3. I have both this one and Sunshine and I love them both. I took Sunshine to Bali with me on holiday (amongst numerous other glosses!) – and this was my favourite go to the whole trip. Love that for day time it has the SPF my lips need, and adds a beautiful hint of colour. Tip for anyone looking at them – do NOT be turned off by the orange colour that is Sunshine – it is actually the most beautiful non-orange colour on the lips – just a slight sunny tint – supposed to light up any face πŸ™‚

*Agree on the packaging though – I know it’s apparently too thick to have a slanted applicator – but I hope a new solution is found as it’s the only thing that lets this baby down.

  4. I pretty much love all the Lanolips products. Every single makeup artist I’ve met at work seems to keep them in their makeup bags for fashion shoots- that sold me even more!

  5. Love the look of Rhubarb. These Lanolips Ointment with Colour feel so good on the lips, they don’t last very long on me though.

  6. Officially on my wishlist! The packaging I agree is a fail.
