My latest literary aquisitions…
Do you have a spare five minutes? If you’re anything like me, take five minutes out of your schedule of looking at Alex O’Loughlin gifs on Tumblr and head over to the Adore Beauty Budgeting For Beauty Survey to answer 3 easy questions and give our pals over at Adore Beauty a hand. There is a little treat for you at the end. Go!
I’ve not seen many reviews of deodorant in the blogsphere which surprises me a bit because it’s such a necessity. Especially in Australia where you can break a sweat just by breathing. Glamourous! The Nivea Invisible For Black & White deodorant is designed not to show stains on both white and black clothing (as the name would suggest), which is great for me as my wardrobe is almost exclusively black. (“I’ll stop wearing black when they invent a darker colour.”) I know that the deodorant doesn’t stain because it passed my “get changed 50 times in one morning because nothing bloody works” test last casual Friday. I pulled on and off various black blouses only to find that none of them had stained. Brilliant. It also does a good job of keeping perspiration at bay and smells fresh and clean like deodorant should. The Nivea Invisible For Black & White Deodorant retails for $4.99 AUD and is available for purchase from supermarkets and pharmacies nation wide. (note: I was sent this product for consideration for review)
Lust Have It was the first Australian “luxury sample” company to get up and running, so of course I signed up right away. I received my second sample box a couple of weeks ago, and I thought I would share it with you guys because I knew some people are on the fence about whether or not to sign up. Contained in box #2 were the following product samples: Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes, Pure Fiji Coconut Milk Shower Gel, Kerastase Elixir Ultime, 2 x Nicole/OPI Nail Polishes and an Urban Rituelle Organic Hand Cream. Lust Have It is $14.95 per month and is a recurring subscription service. You can check out their website for more info.
I needed a new peach-toned lip gloss so I hot-footed it over to the Bloom website to have a browse, because I was also interested in buying one of their sheer colour creams (which never eventuated btw but that is a whole different rant altogether). After checking out the colour range of the Bloom glosses I decided that Wanderlust was the one for me. And right I was because this gloss is beautiful, and exactly what I was after.
The gloss is richly pigmented but is sheer enough that I can wear it comfortably for day time despite my weird phobia of wearing brightly coloured lip products to the office. The gloss is quite thick and ‘tacky’ feeling on application, but I don’t really mind that as I know it just means that the product will last a lot longer on the lips. I really really love this gloss and will definitely check out more colours from the range in the future. The Bloom Lipgloss in Wanderlust retails for $25 AUD and can be purchased online from Adore Beauty.
