Makeup @ NYFW – The Row

New York Fashion Week commences. Cue me trawling the internet for pretty pictures of inspiring new makeup looks on pretty faced models with skin to die for. Enter The Row, the brainchild of the always stylish sometimes kooky Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The makeup at The Row was divine. Soft, dreamy and absolutely perfect for spring. For the first time, Esteé Lauder teamed up with The Row and Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux lead a team of makeup artists to create the fresh and beautiful look on 15 models while famed manicurist Deborah Lippman and her team polished their nails using Estée Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer. “The beauty look for The Row presentation is softly sophisticated. The models look fresh, natural and beautiful – what any woman would want to look like when she wakes up in the morning.” Agreed. To get the look, the makeup artists used the following Esteé Lauder products:

Dual-ended Mascara in black/brown (launching June 2012)
-used with an eyeliner brush for liner in between lashes
-used with the mascara wand for lashes
Blondes: Top and bottom lashes- brown; liner- brown
Brunettes: Top lashes- black; bottom lashes and liner- brown

Sumptuous Extreme Bold Volume Mascara in Black and Brown

Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Beige

Limited Edition Gelée Bronzer (launching 2012)

Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator

NEW foundation tested backstage (launching March 2012)
Lucidity Loose Powder

Nails (by Deborah Lippman using Esteé Lauder)

Product Review: Burt’s Bees Hibiscus Tinted Lip Balm

The official Liptember colour for 2011 is Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in the shade Hibiscus. Despite being a huge fan of the Burt’s Bees products (and brand in general) I’d never used one of their tinted lip balms before, so happily I am loving the shade and lip balm so it’s no struggle at all for me to be wearing this on my lips every day this month. The balm looks like a berry pink shade in the tube, but on the lips it translates to a beautiful peach-pink colour.

The product applies very smoothly and feels lovely and moisturising on the lips. The wear is pretty much on par with most lip balms, with it lasting for around 2 hours or so before re-application is needed. Not only is this tinted lip balm lovely to wear, if you purchase a tube in the month of September, proceeds will go towards Liptember fundraising! (Psst… feel free to hop over to my Liptember profile and sponsor me if you’re feeling generous!) The Burt’s Bees Tinted Lipbalm in Hibiscus retails for $14.95 AUD and can be purchased from David Jones and MYER stores nation wide. (note: I was sent this product as a part of Liptember and for consideration for review)
