Thoughts of the week…

Well it was back to the grind this week as I returned to work and was immediately assigned to a new project which meant my brain couldn’t make its leisurely holiday-work adjustment. I drank 4 cans of red bull this week, if that is any sort of stress measure for you. Despite that, the office was decorated for Christmas and I had the Michael Buble Christmas album on my iphone to keep me company so it wasn’t completely dismal.

01: My niece and I baked my favourite simple Christmas cookies last weekend and they were delicious. I thought I had posted the recipe on the blog in the past but I can’t seem to find it anywhere, so if you’re interested in seeing this recipe in a future post please let me know!

02: I’ve had Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips on repeat all week. It’s officially my favourite song from his new album. I really hope it’s the next song he makes a video for.

04: I have the majority of my Christmas shopping done but I still have a handful of things to buy, so I’m going to try and organize them tomorrow so that I can relax and fully enjoy the next few weeks. I returned to work to find out that I have the big boss in the work secret santa. OF COURSE.

05: Did you know that if you go to a bar and order a good quality scotch, multiple people will call you a “classy lady”? Try it sometime.

06: I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing for New Years Eve and plans are starting to be made. My pre-requisites for what I want to do this year are: no annoying drunk people. It could be a tough ask. What is everyone else doing this year? Can I come?

07: If you’re not already watching Parks & Recreation, please do so immediately. I can’t thank Dee enough for encouraging me to get into this show, and I know Nat is a big fan too. This show is pure comedy perfection people, get on board.

08: Related: Ben Wyatt is a flawless character.

09: Also television related: when did it become acceptable for TV series to start mid-season finales? Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and even Grimm (?!) are doing it and it’s really starting to grind my gears.

10: Glitter wrapping paper. Don’t go there.

I hear you on this break thing. I wouldn’t mind so much if I had a life, but summer is my hibernation period. The ONLY thing I want to do is sit inside out of the heat and stare vacantly at the TV. WHERE ARE MY STORIES?

  2. I would love to see the cookie recipe pretty please!

  3. COMEDY PERFECTION INDEED. Also I just love Andy, he’s so childishly funny. Let’s not even start on the magic of Ben Wyatt.

  5. Sigh, Cumberbatch. Holy hell his voice.
