Thoughts of the week…

01) Magic for dogs.

02) The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Movie Trailer is rather underwhelming.

03) Sephora are apparently having their VIB 15% off sale this week, and I already have a few things on my wishlist. Can I resist?

04) I have so many TV shows to catch up on, but all I’ve wanted to watch lately is My Kitchen Rules (sad, I know). I’ve also started re-watching LOST, as my boyfriend had never seen it before and I convinced him that he simply NEEDED to watch it. It’s still an awesome show, and luckily I seem to have forgotten most of what happens.

05) It was revealed that Prometheus 2 will be hitting cinemas in 2015, which excites me no end. I LOVED the first film, and I can’t wait to see what happens in part two. I think Independence Day 2 is coming out next year too. What a wonderful world we’re living in.

06) 33 Animals You’re Definitely Not The Boss Of.

07) Mythbusters are touring Australia this year, and I snapped up tickets during the week.

08) This video makes me very glad to have my two feet on the ground.

09) If you’ve not already entered my Subtle Energies giveaway, be sure to head on over to the original post and sign up!

10) I picked up a couple of goodies at Priceline during the week, as they were having their 2-for-1 sale on Revlon lip products. I think Revlon’s matte balm stick in ‘Standout’ could be my new favourite lip colour.

Product Review: Weleda Iris Hydrating Facial Care Pack

My skin has been moody lately, and I’m blaming it on the change of weather. I’ve had dry patches popping up on my forehead but the skin on my cheeks and nose seems to be staying as oily as always. My skin needed some heavy duty moisturizing, and I found it in the form of the Weleda Iris Hydrating Range. I’m a huge fan of the almond range from Weleda, so I was excited to try these products out. I expected the scent to be a heavy floral, but both the day and night cream have a light citrus-floral fragrance that I quite like. Now, despite my face being quite dehydrated, the day lotion is too much for me to wear during the daytime due to the jojoba oil content. Having said that, I feel like this lotion would be a Godsend for the truly dry skinned girls out there. I’ve been wearing both the day and night cream in the evening, and I love the luxurious feeling of applying the night cream after my Clarisonic. Both of the creams contain nourishing oils (day: jojoba, night: almond), with the night cream containing shea and cocoa butter for additional softness. If you’re in the market for a heady duty hydrating cream, either one or both of these are definitely worth checking out. The Weleda Iris Hydrating Facial Care Pack retails for $49.90 AUD (currently $37.40 as the duo pack is 25% off until the end of march), and is available for purchase from Weleda online (please note: this product was sent for consideration for review). Additionally, in March/April you can save 25% when you purchase the One-Step Cleanser & Toner, and in April/May you can purchase the Wild Rose Smoothing Day Cream and receive the Wild Rose Smoothing Night Cream free.

What I Bought

I’ve started allocating a certain amount of money to spend on ‘things’ for myself per fortnight. I don’t necessarily HAVE to spend the money each pay period (I can save it or allocate it elsewhere), but having that amount set aside helps me keep on top of what I’m spending on things for myself. I recently placed a GAP order of the following goodies using my fortnightly allowance, and I thought I would share them with you in a MustardJumper style ‘things I bought’ post.

GAP Stripe Bird Scarf GAP Luxelight Sweater in True Black Knit

GAP Drapey Baseball Tee in NavyGAP 1969 Legging Jeans

GAP Pencil Skirt in Black GAP The Essential V-Neck Tee in Dark Charcoal

I feel like the scarf will be a nice way to brighten up my mostly-black winter outfits. I ordered the jumper to wear over collared blouses with little statement necklaces peeking through. The legging jeans are an experiment, because I need some shorter pants to wear with ankle boots. The pencil skirt is a staple in my work wardrobe, and I need a couple of backups. The baseball tee was influenced by the ASOS tees that Natalie is always raving about. This one looked nice and comfortable, and perfect to either throw over jeans to duck down to the shops, or lounge around the house in. The v-neck is a gift for my boyfriend.

Thoughts of the week…

01) I still haven’t made this bloody soup.

02) I watched the first episode of Resurrection last weekend, and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Will anyone else be tuning in to watch this?

03) Oooh-wee! Another new Paolo Nutini song has been released, and it’s a beauty.

04) Ben had some knee surgery this week, and isn’t doing too well. Please send some positive doggy thoughts his way during this bothersome recovery period!

05) This series of photographs showcasing a young girl’s relationship with her bulldog is the best thing I’ve seen all week.

06) This video is a close second.

07) Did else anyone order anything from the Paula’s Choice Australia closing down sale? I picked up a couple of cleansers, toners, and moisturisers because the savings were just too good to resist. It took me about an hour to get through on the phone though, which was pretty annoying.

08) I tried the new Beyonce fragrance out when I was in Priceline during the week, and I liked it. It started out as quite a heavy, wintery sort of scent but by the end of the day it was an exact dupe for the Byredo Gypsy Water perfume. Very weird.

09) I have a new YouTube obsession. This girl is gorgeous, she reminds me of a mix between Leighton Meester and Carey Mulligan and I love the way she speaks. I’m currently style-stalking her, and obsessing over her hair colour.

10) I’ve been lemming-purchasing items like crazy lately. My favourite recent purchase is the Bare Minerals eyeshadow duo in ‘The Top Shelf’, as influenced by EssieButton.

Sephora Haul

I think it may have been Dustyn who mentioned that she successfully ordered something from Sephora recently, despite their call to stop shipping things via Hop Shop Go and other parcel forwarding sites. I didn’t think too much of this until recently, when I got the primal urge to order some makeup. I decided to bite the bullet and see if I had any luck, and I did. I ordered the Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment in ‘Rose’, Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment, Givenchy Photo Perfexion Foundtion in ‘Perfect Ivory’ (my holy grail foundation), and the Becca Ultimate Matte Lip Colour in ‘Amelia’. I also received two free samples (Phyto Express Conditioner for fine hair and Fresh Soy Face Cleanser), and I opted to grab my 500 point perk which was the L’Occitane Favourites kit. Have you risked placing an order from Sephora lately?
