02) Speaking of makeup, I’ve rediscovered my love for the Lipstick Queen Chinatown Glossy Pencil in the shade ‘pink buff’. The only problem is, I can’t figure out how I’m supposed to get more product out of the tube. It doesn’t wind up… am I supposed to sharpen the hard plastic tube? Help!
03) The first official teaser trailer for Mockingjay has been released, and I’m excited.
04) I decided to order a custom watercolour portrait of our cat for Sebastian’s birthday. I highly recommend the ‘dimdi‘ store on Etsy. Her artwork is absolutely beautiful.

06) I love the L’Occitane Almond Delicious hand cream. I’ve used the almond shower oil before, and the hand cream has the same beautiful scent. I have a sample size of this that I carry around in my purse, but I think I might have to splurge and buy a full sized tube.
07) I bought a slow cooker last weekend, and I’m not sure what to make in it. Does anyone have any good slow-cooker recipes they’d like to share?
08) I did a little bit of shopping while I was away this weekend, and this candle from Spell is a new favourite. I think this will be a beautiful candle to burn when the weather heats up a little bit.
09) My friend Kimberley has started up a podcast with the lovely Julia. If you’re a fan of pop culture, be sure to check it out!
10) Sebastian and I went away on the weekend, and it was so lovely to get away and head down south again. The South West region of WA is one of my favourite places to visit. I’ll be posting some of the photos I took on our holiday soon. Stay tuned!
Yay another Nashville fan! I’m obsessed with the music as well.
I love it! I can’t wait to hear more from Lennon & Maisy too.
ohmygosh, I went into Nashville SO skeptically… but I can tell you the moment Gunnar sang with Scarlett on that song, I was IN! I marathonned a few episodes that day (that being said, not liking either of those two in the latest season….)
Its made me appreciate Hayden SO much though!
Thank you SO much for the podcast love! Julia and I are totally winging it and just wanted to be able to gab about tv/movies/all of the things without writing 😀
I agree about Hayden – I’ve never really liked her (or appreciated her talent) until seeing her in this! I can’t wait to watch more episodes soon.
And you’re welcome re: the shoutout. All the best!
Thanks so much for the podcast shout out, much appreciated!
My pleasure Julia!
Hey Jess I have one of those Lipstick Queen crayons too – and mine came with a special sharpener specifically for it (not that I’ve needed to reach for it yet) so maybe pop into Kit and see if they’ll give you another?
Thanks Lucy, someone tweeted me to let me know about the pencil sharpener. I found it in my makeup stash, so all is right in the world!
Im still to try the ambient lighting powders. I will eventually. I think the price scares me a little lol. I loved the Margaret River region in WA. It was my favourite part of living in WA for 3 months.
The price is definitely a bit of a hurdle, but if you can pick one up in a future Sephora sale, it’s well worth it!
That print is absolutely gorgeous and I love the idea!! x
Thanks Liz, I was so happy with how it turned out!
Couldn’t agree more with thought #1! I purchased the Hourglass palette about 2 months ago and it is worth every penny. SO versatile!
Ps. Not sure if you’re a meat eater, but I love making ropa vieja in my slow cooker. It’s super easy, delicious, and there’s always plenty of leftovers. Check out Eva Longoria’s recipe from her cookbook. A quick google search will turn up the recipe.
Thanks for the recipe suggestion, I’m checking it out now!
