Adore Beauty Haul

Kérastase Reflection Bain Chromatique Shampoo & Conditioner – One of my goals for this year is to stop spending money I don’t need to be spending (hello building a house life), but I am “allowed” to repurchase things where needed. This is my first repurchase of the year, as I am close to finishing up the Living Proof Shampoo & Conditioner Duo I’ve been using for the last few months.

O&M Original Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray – This is another repurchase, as I’m getting close to finishing up yet another tube of this amazing hairspray. Sebastian now uses this whenever he washes his hair and needs to style it, so I am going through bottles much faster than I used to. I feel like the fact this works just as well on his thick curly hair as it does on my fine straight hair says a lot about the quality of this product.

Adore Beauty Rose Quartz Facial Massage Set – So forgetting everything I said before about only repurchasing things, I felt that I desperately needed this facial massage set. So I bought it. I want to try and implement facial massage into my daily skincare routine this year, so I can reverse whatever extra ageing 2020 added to my face and try to end the year looking younger than I did when it began.

2021 Bucket List

I like to start each year with some goals for the year – not resolutions as such, but things that I want to work towards throughout the year. I’ve always been goal-oriented and I like to track my progress on different personal challenges throughout the year. 2020 was certainly a year, and one thing it made me realise was that flexibility is key when it comes to the goals I set myself. Also that I need to give myself a fucking break every now and then. Here are the goals I have (loosely) set for the year ahead:

Visit Perth (at LEAST once) – Although I probably could have popped home for a visit last year when the border opened, we have tried to be responsible people and limit the amount of time we are spending in large crowds of strangers. We had considered going home for Christmas last year, but then the community outbreak occurred in South Australia and that was off the table. Hopefully this year we will have the opportunity to return home to visit family at least once. This is me manifesting a two week holiday when the cooler weather hits and we can relax down south with the family drinking wine and eating great food.

Build a house – We had been considering buying or building a house, and when the additional grants were announced for home builders we decided to make the most of it and just go for it. We have purchased land, signed on with a builder and at this stage are just awaiting council approval before the build begins.

Bring back healthy habits – This is in here just to keep me somewhat accountable this year. Here’s the thing – I used to run almost every single day. I would get home from work and immediately go for a run. Even if I had plans on that night I would somehow find a way to fit a run in. Since moving to Adelaide I have really fallen off the wagon with this. We now have an exercise bike at home, so I have something readily available for me to use and this goal is essentially me trying to work those habits back into my daily routine.

Limit online time – I’ve come to discover that doom scrolling is such a complete and utter waste of my free time, and I’m trying to limit the time I spend online that has no purpose. This doesn’t mean I’m disappearing offline altogether, it just means I am trying to be more intentional with my time. I have set timer limits on the apps I tend to waste the most amount of time on, and when I get the temptation to scroll mindlessly my goal is to pick up a book instead.

Christmas Movie Challenge

My October Spooky Movie Challenge was such a fun way to celebrate Spooky Season this year that I decided to work towards a Christmas themed challenge as well. There are so many Netflix/Hallmark cheesy Christmas movies that I also want to try and watch outside of this list, but these will be the core staples for my Christmas season this year. I have booked some holiday leave in December and I plan on spending the majority of that relaxing, reading, and watching Christmas movies in an attempt to try and round off 2020 on a high note. Fingers crossed!

October “Spooky” Movie Challenge Wrap Up

In late September I posted about my October “Spooky Movie Challenge that I had set for myself. The plan was to celebrate Spooky Season throughout October by watching a bunch of Halloween vibe movies. I didn’t do too badly with the challenge, and I actually ended up watching a bunch of movies I didn’t put on my list to start with (hello entire Final Destination movie franchise) so it’s my own fault I didn’t manage to cross everything off. I will be doing this again next year, because it was a really fun way to celebrate the season. I am already planning my December Christmas Movie Challenge, and I can’t wait!
