Blog Sale 29/01/2011

Hi guys! I am once again in my “purge purge purge” cycle of life, where everything that has not seen much love or was just plain wrong for me gets sold or given away to a more loving home. I’m constantly trying to change my attitude towards ‘belongings’ and material objects, and for the most part live with a simple and “less is more” attitude, but sometimes I realise that I just have way too much stuff. Like today. So here is my solution: blog sale! I know you guys share my love of beauty products, so I hope there is something in my collection that will catch your eye.

Please note: None of the items I have put up for sale were sent for me by PR companies. These are all items that I paid for myself, or received in some kind of swap.

As always before I get started posting the items up for sale, I’ll mention a few ‘rules’ –

01: Each sale is final. I will not accept any returned goods, so please ask me questions on items that you are interested before offering to buy them.

02: I will ship interstate and internationally if anyone from overseas is interested in buying any items listed. (Australian shipping: $4 for 1 item $6 for 2-5 items and $10 for 5 or more items – if you’re really feeling generous. International shipping: $10 for 1-5 items $15 for 5 or more items)

03: All payments to be made by Pay Pal please, and in Australian dollars.

04: I will post the items within 3 days of payment being completed (not pending) via Pay Pal.

05: The sale will work on a first come-first served basis. Please email me regarding items that you are interested in purchasing. If you have any questions about products, I will hold that particular item for you until you make a decision.

06: All items are genuine, and I will give honest descriptions about the usage of items, and how much product is left etc.

Hopefully that covers everything! Now, on to the sale…

Stila Haul

My haul package arrived from Stila (via Hopshopgo) today, and my feelings towards everything are kind of “meh”. I’m putting it down to the fact that I’m sick and unable to muster up much enthusiasm for anything right now, including Christmas. Yes, I said it. I’m hoping this summer cold leaves the building (aka my body) stat so I can start feeling like myself again. In the meantime, here is what I ordered from Stila: Illuminating Finishing Powder in Gold, Sheer Colour Tinted Moisturiser in Bare (yet received the shade “light”, grr), Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser in 01, Empty 6 Pan Palette, Stila Eyeshadow in Kitten, Stila Eyeshadow Trio in Goddess, Stila Eyeshadow Trio in Anya, Stila Lip Glaze in Grapefruit, Stila Lip Glaze in Kitten and Stila Lip Glaze in Mayberry. I also ordered a lip glaze in Papaya, but as they sent me Lemongrass, which is not my sort of shade at all I think I’ll give it to my co-worker tomorrow.

Product Review: Stila Convertible Colour in Gerbera

I’ve been sitting here for about 5 minutes now trying to remember if it was this Convertible Colour, or Petunia that I was given by someone because the shade didn’t suit them. And also whether or not that friend was the fabulous Em. I still can’t remember, so on to the review… I have been wearing the Stila Convertible Colour in Gerbera practically every day lately. It’s smooth wearing, easy to apply and the colour is a really gorgeous natural light apricot/peach on fair skin. It also lasts really well and I am still left with colour on my cheeks at the end of the working day. Apologies in advance for the swatch, it’s rather heavy handed as there was a bit of fluff in the compact (can I blame my beauty blender for this?) and I went a little crazy trying to get it out, so when I swatched a lot of product was applied at once.

I have been using my beauty blender to apply it to the apple of my cheeks and then adding highlight with either NARS Orgasm Highlighter or the Benefit Girl Meets Pearl. Perfect summer cheeks in my opinion! I also really love the packaging of the convertible colours. They looks so pretty in the pan, I almost want to have them out on display. I’ve never used this on my lips (despite it being a dual-use product) but I’ve heard that it can be quite drying if you do wear it as a lip colour, so be wary of that. The Stila Convertible Colours are available for purchase in Australia at Mecca Cosmetica, and retail for $48 AUD.
